An outdoor yoga session with a diverse group of students enjoying the fresh air. We are practicing a gentle side stretch to open up the body.

A happy group photo after a rejuvenating outdoor yoga class. It’s always a joy to see so many smiling faces connected through the practice of yoga.

Demonstrating Utkata Konasana, or Goddess Pose, during an outdoor class. This pose is fantastic for building strength in the legs and opening the hips.

Leading the class in a standing overhead stretch to lengthen the spine and open the shoulders. Practicing under the open sky adds a special sense of freedom.

Guiding students in a seated forward bend during a park yoga session. This is a great way to calm the nervous system and stretch the entire back of the body.

A fun moment with students practicing a supported tree pose together. Community and connection are at the heart of my group yoga classes.

Finding my balance with Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance pose, in a local park. My little dog often joins me for my personal practice outdoors.

A side view of the Natarajasana pose, which deeply stretches the shoulders, chest, and thighs while improving balance and concentration.

A large community yoga class I led in a park in Geraldton, Australia. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to practice tree pose.

Another view of our community yoga session, with everyone finding their balance and focus together under the trees.

About Outdoor & Community Yoga

When we practice outdoors, we use the environment to ground ourselves, but it does require some preparation. While I usually bring the necessary props, I always tell my students to check the weather and bring an extra layer for the final relaxation, because the temperature drops quickly once we stop moving.
