How does mytribe verify its providers?

Every provider on mytribe falls into one of two groups. Tribe approved or curated from web. And we always tell you which one before you decide.

Two tiers.

1. Tribe-approved

All providers are thoroughly checked by our team. We interview them call their references and carefully look at their work. They get a badge on their profile that says Tribe-approved.

2. Curated from the web

A page is created based on what we find about the provider on the internet like their website, social media and portfolio. mytribe does this so that users can find these providers while we formally verify them. The prices we show for these providers are estimates and we clearly label them as such.

Seven things we check, before anyone gets the badge.

Identity

We do not just take their word for it. We verify their identity using their Aadhaar card. We cross-check their contact details and the exact cities they work in.

The work

We carefully review their portfolio against the category they applied for. Check if they can really do the work they claim to do. For example Can they actually do a Bengali gaye holud? a colicky-newborn shoot? kuja-dosha consults? Generalists don't get in on the briefs that require a specialist.

References

We call their clients to ask about their experiences. We do not just ask if they liked the work. Also what happened when something went wrong.

Notable claims

If a provider makes a claim like "we decorated a Bollywood wedding" or "we shot for Vogue India" we check to see if it is true before we put it on their profile.

Pricing

We check the provider's prices, including what's included and any extra charges for travel, weekday vs weekend price difference and so on. If a provider offers a good and honest price that is lower than their usual price we mark them as Best Price.

Judgement

We give them a tricky brief from our recent inquiries, and see how they handle them. This helps us understand how they think on their feet.

Photo authenticity

making sure the photos, on the provider's profile are real and belong to them.

All of this information helps us create provider's kundli, the in depth profile that sits behind the recommendation which powers the match making. It's the work we put in so you don't have to.

Being Tribe-approved is not a one time stamp.

We re verify all of our Tribe-approved provider every six months and update their profile. If something changes or if someone makes a complaint we may check them again sooner.
