About Connect with Nature: Outdoor Yoga
Practicing outdoors shifts your energy immediately. When you trade the studio floor for the grass, you are not just exercising; you are using the park's air to deepen your Pranayama and clear your mind. It is a different, more grounding rhythm than you find in a gym.
Nature is the original yoga studio. In our outdoor sessions across Delhi, we move beyond the mechanical repetition of asanas to connect with the elements. Sunlight provides Vitamin D, the uneven grass surface challenges your balance in ways a flat floor cannot, and the open sky allows for deeper, fuller breaths.
Why Practice Outdoors?
Many students tell me they feel trapped by the air conditioning and four walls of a gym. In the park, your senses open up. We focus on:
- Pranayama under the open sky: Using the morning air to perform Nadi Shodhana or Bhramari feels entirely different when you are surrounded by trees. It is a true detox for the lungs.
- Grounding: Standing barefoot on the earth helps you shed the excess static and stress of city life. We often finish sessions with a long Savasana (corpse pose) feeling the breeze, which is the best way to calm the nervous system.
- Community Energy: There is a distinct joy in group practice. Whether it is a routine weekend session or a special celebration like International Yoga Day, the collective energy of the group lifts everyone up.
Preparing for Your Session
Outdoor yoga requires a few practical adjustments. Bring your own mat, but expect to be close to the ground. Wear breathable, comfortable clothing suitable for the weather. Most importantly, come with an open mind. If you are new to this, do not worry about holding perfect poses. Just focus on breathing and being present. We often see folks in everything from activewear to salwar-kameez; the goal is your comfort and your path to swasthata (wellness).
