Acro Yoga: Partner Practice for Trust and Balance

byAshritaStudio at Thanisandra, BengaluruView full gallery

Acro yoga is a playful journey of connection where we blend yoga, acrobatics, and therapeutic touch. Come as you are, and let's explore movement, strength, and support in a safe space.

Trust, balance, and flow. Acro yoga teaches us that we rise by lifting others. Here's a glimpse into a partner session, where connection is the foundation of the practice.

A throwback to some fun acro yoga moments. This practice is all about community, play, and supporting each other, both on and off the mat.

About this collection

You do not need to be a gymnast to get started. My sessions focus on the three pillars of the practice—the base, the flyer, and the spotter—ensuring you feel completely secure while you explore balance. We spend time on trust-building drills and clear communication, so even if you have never tried acro yoga, you will know exactly how to support your partner and move with ease.

Acro yoga is often misunderstood as a performance, but in my sessions, it is a tool for connection. It combines the mindfulness of traditional yoga, the dynamic energy of acrobatics, and the healing aspects of Thai massage to help you reset your nervous system.

Why Partner Practice?

When we practice alone, we are responsible only for ourselves. When we practice with a partner, we learn to trust, to communicate boundaries, and to offer support. You will learn to:

  • Base: Act as the stable foundation for your partner.
  • Fly: Develop core strength and trust while lifted.
  • Spot: Learn the critical safety techniques that make acro yoga accessible to everyone.

What to Expect at Zen Yoga Shala

Whether you are visiting our studio in Thanisandra, catching a session at IKEA Nagasandra, or inviting me to your home space in Bengaluru, the goal remains the same. We start slow. We warm up with standard asanas to prepare the body, followed by partner drills that focus on alignment and communication before we ever attempt a lift.

This is a safe, non-judgmental environment. If you feel hesitant, we stay on the ground. If you want to explore, we go higher. There is no 'right' way to look in a pose, only the right way to feel. If you are curious about finding balance through connection, reach out and let's set up a session.
