Aerial Yoga Classes in Bengaluru
The hammock is more than just a prop; it is a space to decompress, build core strength, and trust gravity. Whether you are curious about inversions or just need a gentle stretch, I am here to guide you.
Hanging upside down in an inversion is a core part of my practice. In this video, I invite you to join me for an Acro and Aerial yoga session to experience the magic where movement meets mindfulness.
A look at my journey and transformation. From practicing aerial yoga on my own to sharing it with others, this practice has been one of deep healing and self-discovery.
A throwback to an aerial yoga workshop in Attapadi, Kerala. Here, a participant is supported by the silk in a forearm headstand, building confidence in inversions.
Another student enjoying an inversion during the Kerala workshop. The smile says it all; aerial yoga is as joyful as it is challenging.
The hammock isn't just for inversions. It can also be used as a cocoon for the most blissful Savasana, gently rocking you into a state of deep relaxation.

About this collection
If you are nervous about going upside down, know this: I use professional-grade rigging that is fully secure, and I spot every move until you feel grounded. We do not rush to advanced flips. We start with low-hanging support, helping you find your balance, decompress your spine, and eventually gain the confidence to lift off.
Finding Your Wings in the Air
Aerial yoga is a unique way to shift your perspective. By using a soft fabric hammock, we take the pressure off your joints and spine, allowing you to hang, stretch, and move with a sense of weightlessness that is hard to find on a traditional mat. It is a playful practice, but it is also deeply therapeutic.
Why Practice Aerial Yoga?
- Spinal Decompression: Hanging in the silk is excellent for relieving the compression caused by sitting at a desk or standing all day. It gives your spine the space to lengthen.
- Core Engagement: Every movement in the air requires your core to stabilize. You will build strength without the strain of heavy weights.
- Safe Exploration: The hammock acts as a safety net. If you have always wanted to try a headstand or forearm balance but felt scared of falling, the fabric provides the support you need to try safely.
My Approach at ZenYogaShala
Whether you visit my studio in Thanisandra or I come to you, my focus remains the same: your comfort. We do not focus on 'nailing' a pose. We focus on how your body feels inside the silk. Some days we practice gentle, restorative movements, and other days we work on dynamic flows. I tailor every 60-75 minute private session to your body's current needs, whether that means addressing specific stiffness or just finding a way to rest deeply.
You do not need to be flexible or 'fit' to begin. I have taught students of all backgrounds who thought they could never go upside down. If you are ready to try something different, bring yourself, and we will find your wings together.
Ashrita
I am Ashrita, and I started ZenYogaShala because I wanted a space where you do not need to be perfect to belong. Aerial yoga is my favourite way to help you release tension and rediscover what your body is capable of, no matter your starting point.
