Ashtanga Vinyasa & Foundational Flows
Master the primary series and synchronize your breath with movement. Our guided flows in Rishikesh focus on discipline, alignment, and building strength, step-by-step.
A glimpse into our Ashtanga class, moving through Marichyasana C and Chaturanga. The practice is challenging, but the rewards are immense.
About Ashtanga Vinyasa & Foundational Flows
In Ashtanga, we prioritize stability over speed. I watch how you place your hands in Marichyasana C and how you land in Chaturanga, making sure you are not straining your shoulders or lower back. If you need a block or a strap to get the alignment right, we use it. We do not force the pose; we wait for your body to open.
The Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series is a discipline, not just a workout. Many students come here wanting to jump into advanced poses, but our focus is on foundational integrity. Whether you are working toward the full series or just starting your practice, the principles remain the same: Ujjayi breath, Bandhas, and Drishti. Shwaas jeevan ka doosra naam hai (Breath is the second name of life), and we teach you to move with it.
Our Training Approach
We train in a traditional setting where we emphasize the rhythm of the sequence. We do not rush. If you struggle with the deep twists of Marichyasana or the shoulder stability required for transitions, we work on them individually. We use the Iyengar tradition of props—chairs for support, bricks for height—to ensure your joints are protected and your alignment is correct.
Why Choose This Practice
- Builds Internal Heat: The Vinyasa system builds Agni (internal fire) which aids in physical and internal purification.
- Structured Progression: From the Tapovan studio in Rishikesh to our sessions in Delhi, the focus is on safe, sustainable practice.
- Teacher Training Ready: We run these sessions as part of our RYT-200 and RYT-300 programs, ensuring every student understands not just how to perform an asana, but how to teach it safely to others.
Karma karte raho. Your journey is yours—I am just here to guide.
