Breath, Mind, and Yoga Philosophy Classes in Rishikesh
Yoga is more than just stretching. Join me in Rishikesh to master your breath, calm your mind, and understand the ancient philosophy behind every practice.
Pranayama is the art of controlling the breath. As the ancient texts say, "He who can control the breath can control life itself." Here, students practice Nadi Shodhana to balance their energy.
A class of students sits in meditation, turning their focus inward. This practice of stillness is essential for any aspiring yoga teacher.

I lead an outdoor pranayama session. Practicing in nature enhances the experience, connecting us to the vital life force all around us.
About Beyond Asana: Breath, Mind & Philosophy
We don't just sit and breathe here. In these sessions, we focus on specific techniques like Nadi Shodhana and Kapalbhati to actually cleanse your energy channels, rather than just clearing your nose. If you have struggled to find stillness in meditation because your mind feels noisy, my approach uses specific breathwork to quiet that chatter before we even attempt to sit in silence.
Yoga is rarely about how high you can lift your leg or perform a complex pose. For me, it is about 'Shwaas jeevan ka doosra naam hai'—breath is the second name of life. If you cannot control your breath, you cannot control your mind.
In my sessions here in Rishikesh, we strip away the surface-level acrobatics. We start with the basics of Pranayama—Nadi Shodhana, Bhramari, and Ujjayi. We are not doing this for a fitness workout; we are doing this for the detoxification of the mind. Most people focus on the body’s fitness, but they ignore the buildup of stress and cluttered thoughts. My teaching style is step-by-step. I will show you how to sit correctly in Siddhasana so that your spine remains straight, allowing the energy, or Prana, to flow upwards.
I also emphasize the philosophical roots of our practice. You will learn why we perform Shatkarma and how these internal cleansing techniques prepare the body and mind for deeper meditation. Whether you are a beginner or looking to advance your practice, these classes are about going internal. We use props like bricks and bolsters to support your body so you can focus entirely on the breath, not on the discomfort of sitting.
If you have been feeling disconnected or overwhelmed, this training is designed to bring you back to your center. It is demanding, but it is real. No shortcuts, no fancy trends—just the traditional path of yoga as it was meant to be practiced.
