Step away from city life and join us in the Himalayas for a 6-day residential retreat designed to help you and your children reconnect through traditional Sivananda yoga and quiet nature.

Join us for our annual Kids & Parents Yoga Retreat in the beautiful hills of Palampur. This poster captures the joyful, vibrant energy of a week where families bond over yoga, nature, and fun.

"Be good, do good." Children learn the core values of yoga while practicing together in a circle on the lush green lawn. This is where we plant the seeds of kindness and compassion.

Two young yogis helping each other with Dhanurasana (Bow Pose). In my kids' classes, we encourage teamwork and mutual support, making learning asanas a joyful and collaborative experience.

Our little yogis on a nature walk, exploring the beautiful trails around the retreat center. We teach them to connect with nature and observe the world around them with curiosity and wonder.

Coloring meditation is a wonderful way for children to develop focus and express their creativity. Here, they are learning about different asanas like Happy Baby Pose while coloring.

A proud moment at the "Little Yogis Graduation." A young participant receives his certificate after a week of dedicated practice, play, and learning.

"Help thy neighbor as thy self." Two boys work together in a partner stretch, learning the importance of cooperation and gentle assistance in their yoga practice.

Another fun partner pose, this time a variation of a seated stretch. These exercises build trust and communication between the children.

A creative and challenging partner pose that requires balance, strength, and trust. The smiles on their faces show how much fun they are having while learning.

A younger participant gets some help in a gentle backbend. My classes are adapted for all age groups, ensuring every child feels included and supported.

About Yoga for All Ages: Family & Kids Retreats

We do not offer 'kids yoga' as a separate activity to keep children occupied. This is a residential retreat in the Palampur hills where you and your children practice together, share sattvic meals, and participate in Karma Yoga—meaning, we all pitch in to keep our living space clean and respectful. It is six days of intentional digital detox where the only screen you will see is the view of the mountains.

What to Expect

This is not a typical summer camp. Our approach is based on the Sivananda method, which balances discipline with joy. During these six days, we focus on helping children (ages 5 to 12) and parents move, breathe, and reflect together.

The Daily Rhythm

  • Morning Asanas: We start with gentle practice to wake up the body. Parents and children practice side-by-side, learning to support each other's balance.
  • Karma Yoga: Every participant contributes to the ashram environment. This teaches children that service is a natural part of daily life, not a chore.
  • Sattvic Dining: We eat vegetarian, wholesome meals together. This is a great way to talk about food, nutrition, and gratitude without the distractions of television or phones.
  • Creative Focus: When we aren't on the mat, we use nature walks and guided coloring sessions to discuss mindfulness and concentration.

Practical Details

  • Location: We host these retreats in serene heritage stays near Palampur or Andretta, away from the noise of Delhi-NCR.
  • Accommodation: This is an ashram-style experience. Rooms are clean and aesthetic but simple. Expect shared heritage homestays with attached western bathrooms—no room service, no TV, and no stress.
  • Philosophy: My goal is to sow the seeds of yoga early. By removing the digital noise, parents often find that they actually hear their children for the first time, and children see their parents as partners in practice.

I have been teaching for over thirty years, and I have found that the best way to teach a child is to model the practice yourself. In these retreats, I don't just want you to watch your kids do yoga; I want you to be on the mat with them. We build a sangha—a family—where the practice bridges the generation gap.
