Yoga is more than just asanas. Explore our community rituals, spiritual gatherings, and the deeper life-lessons we share beyond the mat.

A Ganapati Homam (fire ritual) in progress. We begin our teacher training courses with this ceremony to invoke blessings and create a positive psychic environment for our spiritual journey.

Preparing the altar for the Ganapati Homam. Every element of the ritual, from the mantras to the offerings, is filled with intention and symbolism to help remove obstacles.

A video of participants making offerings to the sacred fire during the Homam. This act symbolizes the burning away of impurities and the surrender of the ego.

A sacred Swastika symbol prepared on the altar, with participants meditating in the background. Yoga is a vast science of spirituality, and these rituals are a part of that tradition.

A participant makes an offering to the fire during the ceremony. It is a powerful experience of purification and setting intentions for the path ahead.

A kirtan book and kartal (hand cymbals) resting on a colorful mat. Chanting and kirtan are an important part of our satsangs, using sound to elevate the spirit.

A photo from my "Sundays with Arun" online talk series. In these sessions, we engage in conversations about life, health, and what it means to be human, exploring topics we often can't discuss elsewhere.

A Guru Purnima tribute to my own teachers. On this auspicious day, I express gratitude to the entire lineage of gurus who have selflessly passed down this sacred knowledge.

Celebrating Guru Purnima with my students and fellow teachers. It is a day to honor the light of wisdom that guides us on our path.

About Additional Work & Community Moments

At the Sivananda Yoga Centre, we believe that yoga is a lifestyle, not just a physical practice. Whether it is our Ganapati Homam rituals to clear obstacles or our 'Sundays with Arun' series, we create a space where you can discuss real-life challenges without the pressure of a formal studio environment. If you are feeling a sense of restlessness, this is an invitation to pause and reconnect with a community that prioritizes truth over poses.

Beyond the Mat: Yoga as a Way of Life

Many people come to us looking for a workout, but they stay because they find a sangha (spiritual community). Our work goes beyond the 12 classic postures. We organize traditional rituals like the Ganapati Homam, which serve as a way to set intentions and remove obstacles, creating a positive psychic environment for our practice. These ceremonies are deeply rooted in our tradition, helping us transition from the busyness of daily life to a state of internal stillness.

Conversations That Matter

One of the most important aspects of our work is 'Sundays with Arun.' In a world where we are constantly connected to screens but disconnected from ourselves, we host these sessions to talk about health, money, happiness, and what it actually means to be human. These are not lectures; they are honest conversations—the kind you cannot have in an office or a pub. We explore the Sivananda philosophy, using it to navigate the complexities of life in Gurgaon and beyond.

Why Join Our Community?

  • Authenticity: We do not believe in quick fixes. Our practices are traditional, time-tested, and designed for long-term transformation.
  • Shared Experience: From Kirtan (chanting) to communal dining, we create environments where people come as strangers and leave as a support system.
  • Inclusive Space: Whether you are an experienced practitioner or someone who has never stepped on a mat, our community is open to everyone seeking peace.

We invite you to participate, share your story, and learn how to integrate these ancient teachings into your modern life.

I am Arun. I have been teaching for over 30 years, and I believe yoga is about finding your true self, not just mastering a pose. My students are my family, and this space is where we share, learn, and grow together.
