Why I Teach Ashtanga Yoga
Yoga for me is about living in the now. Our shala is all about real practice, not fancy poses for Instagram. You’ll find a space here to grow, laugh, and learn - no matter if you’re a total newbie or have been rolling out your mat for years.
What Happens in Class
- We always begin with the Ashtanga opening chant - helps us get focused.
- You’ll move through breath-synchronized movement, using the Sanskrit count. Feels technical at first, but you get into the rhythm.
- Expect to practice Primary Series postures like Surya Namaskar, standing and seated asanas. I’ll help with hands-on corrections if you want.
- Every class ends with Savasana. Don’t skip it - it’s when you actually feel the work you’ve put in.
My Approach
I’m serious about safety and alignment, but we also have fun. Sometimes, we add laughter therapy because honestly, khub acche se hanste hue (laughing heartily) helps everyone loosen up. If you’re dealing with stress or back pain, or just want to feel fitter, this practice can help.
Who Can Join
All are welcome - first-timers, old-timers, stiff bodies, flexible bodies. I use props like blocks and straps so nobody feels lost. If you’re advanced, let’s try some tough poses together.
