Mat & Prop Pilates Classes in Whitefield
A device-free sanctuary to build functional core strength. We use props to deepen your movement and end every session with guided relaxation.
A snapshot from our Sound Body Mat and Prop Pilates class. Here, members use stability balls to engage their core and improve balance, demonstrating a low-impact yet effective strengthening exercise.
Wall Pilates offers a unique way to use your own body weight for resistance and support. In this class, members use the wall to refine their alignment and deepen their stretches, building strength with patience and control.
In this mat class, members use light dumbbells to add a strength training element to their Pilates lunges. This helps build lean muscle and functional strength, showing that small changes in your routine can lead to big results.
Small steps every day lead to sustainable progress. This video shows a mat exercise using yoga blocks for support and challenge, focusing on controlled leg movements to build core and lower body strength.
This clip shows members using resistance bands for a lower body workout before transitioning into a period of rest. It highlights our philosophy of making yourself a priority through both mindful movement and intentional stillness.
This video provides an overview of our different classes, including scenes from a Wall Pilates session where members use the wall for support and a mat class where they perform core exercises. It reinforces that Pilates is for everyone.
About this collection
Our Mat and Prop sessions do more than strengthen your core. We integrate resistance bands, stability balls, and light weights to create functional movement that respects your joints and posture. Because we believe in balance, every 60-minute session concludes with 30 minutes of guided sound healing or breathwork to help you reset your nervous system before heading back out into the world.
Why Mat and Prop Pilates?
Many of us live in a state of constant, high-speed movement. Our Mat and Prop Pilates classes are designed to be the antidote. By using props like resistance bands, yoga blocks, and stability balls, we add intentional resistance that builds real-world, functional strength rather than just aesthetic muscle.
The SAMA Approach
- Device-Free Environment: We lock away phones and smartwatches upon entry. This is your time to disconnect from digital noise and reconnect with your own body.
- No Mirrors: We believe you should feel your practice, not watch it. Our studio design removes the pressure to look perfect, allowing you to focus on form and sensation instead.
- Small Batches: We cap our groups at 8 to 12 participants to ensure that whether you are a beginner or experienced, you receive the attention needed for safe, effective alignment.
What to Expect
Every session is a hybrid practice. You will spend 30 minutes on active movement using props to engage your core and improve balance. The remaining 30 minutes are dedicated to Calm Mind Practice—think guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, or sound healing. It is about working hard enough to feel energized, then slowing down enough to feel restored.
Whether you are based in Siddapura or Hopefarm, our Whitefield studios are designed as sanctuaries. Bring your mat, an open mind, and we will handle the rest.
Sama
We created SAMA to be a sanctuary, not just another fitness center. We believe your hour on the mat should be about you, free from distractions like phones or mirrors. We keep our batches small to ensure you get actual guidance, helping you build a sustainable practice that fits your life.
