More Than Movement: The Calm Mind Practice
At SAMA, we believe fitness should soothe your mind, not just challenge your body. Every session is split equally between mindful movement and deep relaxation, helping you disconnect from the noise of the day.
As this video explains, 50% of each class at SAMA is dedicated to a calm mind practice. We guide you to slow down your thoughts and breathe with awareness, ensuring you leave feeling as mentally refreshed as you are physically strong.
Rest is not a reward, it is a fundamental part of the work. This video shows our members transitioning from movement into a seated meditation, embodying our belief in the power of stillness.
This video illustrates how SAMA Pilates is a blend of a classical workout with our signature Calm Mind Practice. You can see members moving with intention and then settling into a quiet, meditative state.
When fitness becomes less about how you look and more about how you feel, everything changes. This class is seen transitioning into a restorative pose, a moment to turn inward and connect with the body.
We took our signature calm mind experience to a local festival, guiding participants through art, movement, and deep relaxation. This image captures a moment of collective stillness and mindfulness.
Our Program Director, Meghna Verma, shares her thoughts on what a calm mind truly is. It is a state of stress-free silence that we help you cultivate through our guided practices.
About this collection
At SAMA, every 60-minute session follows a distinct 30-30 split. We dedicate the first half to functional movement, such as Mat or Reformer Pilates, and the second half to deep relaxation practices like Yoga Nidra, breathwork, or sound healing. Because we enforce a mandatory digital detox with secure lockers for your phone, you can leave the constant mental chatter outside and truly focus on your own rhythm without distractions.
Physical health often gets the spotlight, but we created SAMA because we felt the mind was being left behind. In a world full of buzzing phones and constant notifications, our studio in Whitefield offers a dedicated space to unplug and recalibrate. Our Calm Mind Practice is not just an add-on; it is the core of everything we do.
How We Practice
We move away from high-intensity, competition-driven fitness. Instead, we focus on consistency and sustainability.
- The Movement Phase: Whether you join a Mat Pilates, Reformer, or strength training class, the goal is functional movement—building strength that helps you in your daily life, not just for looks.
- The Stillness Phase: The second half of your hour is your reset button. We use tools like sound healing, guided meditation, and Yoga Nidra to help you drop into a state of quiet. It is not about emptying your thoughts, but simply finding a pause.
Our Studio Environment
When you enter our Siddapura or Hopefarm locations, you will notice what is missing: mirrors and devices. We intentionally stripped away mirrors so you can feel the movement rather than critique your appearance. By removing phones and smartwatches, we eliminate the temptation to check messages, allowing you to stay present for your full hour.
Is This For You?
You do not need to be flexible or experienced to start. Our classes are designed for everyone, from beginners to those with years of practice. We keep our batches small to ensure you receive personal attention, whether you are here for a restorative sound bath or to build core strength.
Sama
We started SAMA because we saw everyone chasing fitness while their minds were getting left behind. Our studio in Whitefield is built to be a sanctuary, not a gym—no mirrors, no phones, just an hour to breathe and be yourself.
