I opened Moi Doughssier to feel less like a commercial shop and more like a home. Pull up a chair and get to know the space I have poured my heart into.

A look back at my journey. From my early days as a home baker to becoming a professionally trained pastry chef, this video shares my passion and gratitude for this doughlicious year.

A sneak peek of my cafe coming to life. This video shows the early stages of construction, from the new storefront and glass doors to the work being done inside to create a warm and welcoming space.

This video gives you a feel for the cozy and beautiful ambiance of my cafe. It shows the dessert display case filled with treats like bomboloni and cheesecake, and highlights some of our most popular items.

In this video, I introduce myself and my passion for baking. It also showcases some of my signature items, like the Basque cheesecake with chocolate sauce and the famous croissant dunked in hot chocolate.

About Our Story & Cafe Vibe

I didn't just want to open a standard bakery; I wanted a space that captures that 'lagta French, par feel desi' (looks French, feels Indian) energy. When you visit the Vashi cafe, you will notice it is not massive, but every corner—from the lighting to the specific playlist—is chosen to let you zone out for an hour or catch up with a bestie without feeling rushed.

My journey with Moi Doughssier started in a small home kitchen, strictly with pre-orders and a lot of late nights. Moving to a physical space in Vashi was a leap, but it was essential to bring the experience full circle. I wanted a place where you could smell the sourdough fermentation and see the Basque cheesecakes coming out of the oven.

Why the cafe vibe matters:

  • The Sourdough Process: We don't rush. The bread you see on our shelves goes through a slow-fermentation process. This isn't just a buzzword; it changes the gut health and the depth of flavour in every slice of sourdough.
  • Community Space: Whether you are coming in for a solo coffee date or grabbing a box of bomboloni for the family, the cafe is designed to be a local gem in Navi Mumbai. We keep the seating cozy, and the music is always chill.
  • The Coffee Standard: I take coffee seriously. You will only find specialty beans here. If you are new, try the Orange Americano or our thick, velvety hot chocolate.

We close on Mondays—that is my time to reset, experiment with new dough, and come back with fresh ideas on Tuesday. If you are planning a visit, I am usually around the counter during the morning breakfast rush (8 am to 11 am).

Hi, I am Nafisa. I traded a corporate desk for a chef’s hat because I wanted to bake things that actually have a soul. My cafe in Vashi is where I experiment with single-origin beans and slow-fermented dough, keeping it real with every single bake.
