About Chinese Martial Arts
My Martial Arts Roots
I go by Shi Yan Xiang, but you can call me Shifu Kumar. My martial arts journey began at the Shaolin Temple in China, where I was initiated as a 34th Generation Warrior Disciple by the Abbot himself. My training and mindset come straight from the source. For me, Kung Fu is about showing up, sweating it out, and letting the results speak.
What I Teach
- Authentic Shaolin Kung Fu training forms the backbone of my classes. It’s all about building real skills, not shortcuts.
- Basics matter most. Expect a lot of stance work, body conditioning, and repetition until your form is spot on. Don’t worry if your body weight peeche rahega (stays behind) at first - perfection is built slowly.
- You’ll learn traditional martial arts forms, from beginner sets to advanced sequences like Shaolin Tong Bi Quan.
- Weapon training starts with the basics, mostly stickwork, before going deeper.
- Sanda self defense techniques are a must: striking, blocking, and even some grappling - practical skills for the real world.
- Internal work is just as important. We train Taiji for balance and health, and practice Chan meditation to calm the mind. Xiu Xin Yang Shen means we work on our hearts, not just our muscles.
My Way of Training
I’m hands-on, strict about basics, but always rooting for you. It’s challenging, but anyone who sticks with it can benefit - age, gender, background don’t matter. There’s no fast track, just honest effort.
Zindagi jeenay kay liye hai. Jiyo aur jineenay doh. (Life is for living. Live and let live.)

Now, we bring that same Shaolin energy back to Bharat, sharing not just martial arts but lessons in focus and cultivation. From China to the Philippines, our path is all about learning and sharing.
