I am demonstrating a Qi Xing Quan combat application. Observe the sequence of blocking an incoming strike, trapping the arm, and delivering a counter punch. This is how forms are translated into practical self-defense.

Here, I am teaching a student a basic blocking and trapping drill. We start with the first step, repeating the motion to build muscle memory for real-world Sanda applications.

About Sanda & Practical Self-Defense

In these sessions, you aren't learning flashy movie moves. We break every Sanda movement down to its base: stance, weight distribution, and timing. When you train here, you repeat the same fundamental drill until your body knows the counter-strike without you needing to think. If you come here, prepare to focus on the basics first.

Sanda is not about showing off. It is about practical self-defense. At my Shahpur Jat studio, we train students to handle real-world scenarios through a mix of striking, blocking, and takedowns.

The Methodology

My approach is rooted in my training at the Shaolin Temple in China. You will learn to use your body weight efficiently, keep your guard tight, and maintain distance. Beginners often try to rush the process, but as I say, repetition is the mother of skill. We emphasize stance work and muscle memory so that when a situation arises, your reaction is instinctive.
