Aerial Yoga: Building Strength & Graceful Flows
Aerial yoga is more than just a workout. We use hammocks to decompress your spine, build core stability, and find a new way to move your body, even if you have zero prior experience.
The hammock is a great tool for building the strength needed for advanced poses like handstands. Here, I am safely guiding a student, helping her build shoulder stability and mind-body coordination.
This is a beautiful flow that combines strength, balance, and flexibility. We work on sequences like this to build muscle memory and create a moving meditation in the air.
It is a privilege to be able to move your body. This dynamic flow uses the hammock for support while transitioning between floor work and aerial poses, creating a full-body workout.
I am completely in love with aerial yoga because it constantly challenges me. Trying different things like this inversion flow helps you discover a new, stronger version of yourself.
"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today." This student is working on a standing split variation, a challenging pose that requires both strength and flexibility.
Get strong and toned muscles with aerial yoga. These exercises use the hammock to create instability, forcing your core and stabilizing muscles to work harder. You can feel the inches loss and strength gain in just a few classes.
Have you ever tried Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) on a hammock? This variation adds a new dimension to a classic yoga sequence, building more strength and improving balance.
This is a beautiful Ballerina variation performed by my student Manisha. It requires grace, strength, and focus, showing how aerial yoga can feel like a dance.
An inverted split in the yellow hammock. This pose is a testament to the progress you can make, showing that nothing is impossible for those who are willing to try.
We all want to do things that boost our confidence. Learning a skill like this not only makes you physically strong but also gives you a great sense of accomplishment. All you need is a guide you can trust in the process.
About Building Strength & Graceful Flows
Don't let the idea of 'flying' intimidate you. You do not need to be strong or flexible to start. We use professional-grade silk hammocks adjusted to hip height, providing full support while you learn to trust the fabric. Whether we are doing assisted inversions to decompress your spine or building stability with core-focused drills, you are always in control of your movement, with mats placed below for total safety.
Why Aerial Yoga Changes the Game
Many students come to me thinking aerial yoga is only for acrobats. That is a myth. The hammock is actually the best tool for a beginner. It acts as a partner that supports your weight, allowing you to get into poses you might struggle with on the mat.
The Spine-First Approach If you sit at a desk all day or deal with constant back pain, our inversion sequences are a game-changer. By hanging upside down, we use gravity to gently decompress the spine, relieving pressure and boosting blood flow to the brain. It is immediate relief, not just a promise.
Building Strength, Not Bulk We don't just hang around. We use the hammock for resistance training. Your core works twice as hard to stabilize you, which builds functional strength that carries over to your daily life.
What You Can Expect
- Safety First: Classes are small (max 8 people), ensuring I can provide hands-on spotting for every student.
- No Pressure: Whether you are 20 or 70, you move at your own pace. There is no judgment here.
- Floating Savasana: We end every session with a 'cocoon pose' inside the silk. It is the deepest rest most of my students get all week.
