This is the feeling of flight and freedom that aerial yoga brings. Here I am moving through a sequence in the hammock, finding that perfect balance between effort and ease.
Look at that smile. This is what it feels like to trust the hammock and see the world from a new perspective. This supported inversion helps decompress the spine and feels absolutely wonderful.
Aerial yoga isn't just about dynamic movement. It's also about finding moments of quiet and stillness, like in this seated pose where the hammock supports you in a gentle, floating meditation.
With consistent practice, you'll discover new levels of flexibility and strength. This deep stretch uses the aerial silk to help open the hips and lengthen the spine in a way that's difficult to achieve on the mat.
Our Saturday classes are a space for connection and shared energy. Here are two of my students finding their focus and strength together, each in their own hammock.
Welcome to our beautiful aerial yoga studio in Santacruz West. I wanted to create a space that feels vibrant, clean, and inspiring, with colorful hammocks ready for you to begin your journey.
A little glimpse into my personal practice. This sequence, featuring a superwoman drop, shows how we can build up to more dynamic and playful movements, building core strength and confidence along the way.
About Featured
Aerial yoga might look intimidating, but it is actually one of the most supportive ways to practice. The hammock takes the weight off your joints, making it much easier to explore inversions and deep stretches that often feel difficult on a standard mat. In my Saturday batches, we prioritize safety and alignment over perfect form. Whether you are aiming to decompress your spine after a long week or just want to try something new, you will find a pace that works for your body.
How Aerial Yoga Works
When we practice with the aerial hammock, we are using the fabric as a prop to help us explore movement in three dimensions. By moving off the floor, we can practice inversions safely—this is often the favorite part of class because it helps decompress the spine and takes the pressure off the neck and shoulders.
We focus on a mix of:
- Strength Building: Using the hammock to support your body weight helps you engage your core and upper body in ways that feel fun, not like a chore.
- Flexibility: The hammock acts as a support system, allowing you to ease into deeper stretches and hold them longer than you might on the ground.
- Mindfulness: Hanging in the fabric naturally encourages you to focus on your breath. It is hard to think about your to-do list when you are focused on balance and flight.
Why Saturday Classes?
I run these sessions at the studio in Santacruz West specifically to build a community. The group is small, capped at 10 people, so I can provide hands-on spotting for every student. If you have never done this before, do not worry. We start with the basics, get you comfortable with the height, and move into the flow only when you feel ready. You just need to bring your mat and a water bottle; I provide the professional-grade hammocks. If you have been looking for a way to break up your routine, come join us this weekend.
