The energy in our Saturday class is always so positive. This clip captures the fun and playful side of our practice, with students exploring different swings and drops.
A typical Saturday class involves a mix of floor stretches, hammock-assisted poses, and of course, inversions. It's a balanced practice for the mind and body.
Finding joy in the journey. This student’s smile captures the supportive and encouraging atmosphere we cultivate in every aerial yoga class.
Here’s a look at the variety within a single class. We move, we stretch, we hang, and we support each other’s progress.
This video highlights the fluid movements we practice in our aerial yoga sessions. Each student moves at their own pace, listening to their body.
About Our Saturday Group Class
Our Saturday sessions at Balkan-Ji-Bari use gradient hammocks designed for spinal decompression, not just acrobatic poses. I limit the batch to 10 students so I can provide hands-on spotting while you enter or exit inversions, ensuring you feel safe even if it’s your first time hanging upside down.
Aerial yoga, often called anti-gravity yoga, is more than a trendy workout. In our studio, we use the hammock as a prop to support your body weight, which allows for deeper stretching and decompression of the spine. If you have been struggling with desk-related stiffness or back pain, the gentle traction provided by these poses can be transformative.
In my classes, we do not just focus on the 'wow' factor of flipping upside down. We prioritize alignment. We start with simple warm-ups to get comfortable with the fabric before moving into standing poses and eventually, supported inversions. Whether we are practicing Ustrasana (Camel Pose) with hammock support or finding stillness in a floating Savasana, the goal is to build strength in your core and upper body without the repetitive strain of gym weights.
I keep the environment light and supportive. You will find that the hammock makes poses you might find difficult on a mat—like deeper lunges or specific hip openers—suddenly accessible. It is playful, yes, but it is also a grounding practice. By the time we settle into our final rest, you will feel the physical release in your muscles and the quiet focus that comes from a balanced practice.
We keep the groups small for a reason—so I can guide you through every adjustment. You do not need to be a gymnast to join. If you can breathe and are willing to try, you can do aerial yoga.
