Why I Teach Yoga Online

Yoga isn’t just about getting bendy or nailing that perfect pose. For me, it’s about falling in love with every messy, strong, tired, or joyful part of myself. Some days I skip practice and feel guilty, but I remind myself: I bend so I don’t break. Even now, I believe nothing beats a heavy round of Suryanamaskar to shake things up.

What My Classes Feel Like

• You’ll join me from home, camera on or off, moving through a mix of asana (poses), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation.
• We dig deeper than just the physical—expect a bit of yoga philosophy and little reminders to be kind to yourself.
• Styles are blended: a base of Hatha, a taste of Ashtanga for those who want a sweat, and always a good Savasana to close.
• I sneak in classic Sivananda flows and adjust for whatever your body needs that day.

For Every Body and Every Mood

• If you’re new, I break it down slow. Beginner yoga at home can feel awkward at first, but we’ll work through it—tight hamstrings and all.
• If you’re already deep into yoga, I’ll challenge you with things like arm balances and headstands.
• Got a desk job? I focus a lot on yoga for desk workers: think stretches for your back, neck, and shoulders.

Beyond the Stretch

• We build strength, not just flexibility—core, arms, posture, all of it.
• Guided pranayama sessions help shake off stress and clear your head.
• No one’s perfect, and that’s the whole point. Come as you are, leave a little lighter.

My Story

Hey, I’m Sharmila. Yoga teacher, yes, but also a wanderer, trippy little hippie (as my friends tease). I collect tiny forest treasures, chase waterfalls for my natrajasana, and sunbathe in Manali. Street shopping in Pushkar, magical treks in Bali, and celebrating Diwali with my chosen fam - these moments are my balance. Sometimes I just dance with shadows and think, what a wonderful world. Life’s all about finding what to hold, what to let go.

Strength over just flexibility - Yoga is not just about bending. I focus on strength building yoga so you grow stable, inside and out.

Props and variations - We’ll use props and try variations for deeper stretches, better alignment, and muscle awareness.

Connect with energy - We’ll explore Sun Salutation variations and Chandra Namaskar to tap into the universe’s energy.
