Yoga in Nature's Embrace
I believe my practice deepens whenever I step off the mat and into the wild. From the quiet of forest floors to the rhythm of ocean tides, these moments remind me that we are connected to everything.
Yoga for One Earth, One Health. A compilation of poses against stunning sunrises and sunsets, celebrating International Yoga Day and our connection to the planet.
A Reverse Warrior pose in a tranquil Kerala resort. This pose strengthens the legs and opens the side body, creating a sense of joyful expansion.
Another angle of Warrior I in the forest. This powerful pose, Virabhadrasana I, embodies the spirit of the peaceful warrior, strong and steady.
About Yoga in Nature's Embrace
Practicing outdoors forces your body to find balance on uneven terrain, engaging stabilizer muscles that a flat studio floor often misses. When we meet for online sessions, I teach you how to bring this grounded awareness onto your mat—even if you are just in your living room.
When I am not leading a class, you will find me chasing waterfalls or practicing on the damp sand of a beach. Nature doesn't demand perfection; it demands adaptability. That is exactly what I bring to my online Hatha and Vinyasa flows.
Whether you are joining for a group session or a private class, we focus on strength over just flexibility. We use yoga as a tool to become stable—inside and out. If you are struggling with tight hamstrings or feeling disconnected, we break down poses with props and variations that make the practice accessible for your body today, not the version of you that you think you should be.
Why Practice With Me?
- Functional Strength: We move beyond basic stretches to build core and postural strength.
- Intentional Breathwork: My sessions conclude with pranayama and meditation to help you shake off the day's stress.
- Accessible Guidance: Whether you are a beginner or looking to master inversions, I adapt the flow to your needs.
I believe in the power of showing up exactly as you are—messy, tired, or strong—and letting the practice hold you. We bend so we don't break.
Sharmila Sheoran
Hi, I'm Sharmila. I’m a yoga teacher who finds as much balance chasing waterfalls as I do in a perfectly held Warrior II pose. My classes are a mix of traditional Ashtanga wisdom, Hatha discipline, and a genuine need to just breathe, laugh, and move a little more freely.
