About Our Studio: A Creative Sanctuary
This isn't a traditional art classroom with strict rules, but a quiet space designed to help you slow down. Whether you’re looking for a Sunday escape from the Bengaluru traffic or want to try wheel throwing for the first time, my studio is set up to keep things unhurried. You don't need any prior experience to pull up a stool here, just bring yourself and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
A Space Built for Slow Living
When I started The Janbo, I wanted to create a place that felt like home, not a factory. The studio is flooded with natural light, filled with the soothing scent of damp clay, and intentionally quiet. It is a place where the goal is not to produce perfect goods, but to give you a few hours of peace.
What You Will Find Here
- The Wheel & The Table: We have electric wheels for those ready to center their first ball of clay, and plenty of table space for hand-building bowls, mugs, or sculptures.
- A Creative Community: You will often find other makers here—artists, friends on a weekend date, or professionals taking a break from screens. It is a shared space where we talk, share stories, and learn from each other's process.
- The Kiln & The Process: While the magic happens on the wheel, the chemistry happens in the kiln. I handle all the technical bits like glazing, bisquing, and firing, so you can focus entirely on the shaping. Your pieces go through a 4-week journey of drying, firing, and glazing before they are ready for your home.
Why Sarjapura Road?
I chose this spot because it offers enough distance from the city center to feel like an escape, but remains accessible. Whether you are coming in for a one-off pottery workshop, a specialty ceramic class, or a multi-day course, this is a sanctuary for anyone with a curious heart and a desire to make something real with their own hands. No pressure, no rigid syllabus, just clay.
The Janbo
I built this studio because I needed a place to stop, breathe, and create. It is not a fancy gallery; it is a living, breathing workspace where you can walk in with a busy mind and leave with something made by your own hands.
