Our Serene Pottery Studio in Pali Hill, Bandra
Tucked away in the leafy lanes of Pali Hill, my studio is a calm, green escape from Mumbai’s hustle. It is where we slow down, get our hands in the clay, and find a little quiet in the middle of the city.
This is our home. The Pottery Lab is located on Nargis Dutt road in the quiet, leafy neighborhood of Pali hill, Bandra West. It's a space I created to make art accessible to everyone.
We are located in a neighborhood bursting with cafes and just a short walk from the ocean. You can easily make a whole day out of your visit to the studio. Street parking is available nearby.
The little moments at the studio are often the most musical. From the quiet hum of the pottery wheel to the gentle breeze through the trees outside, it's a place of calm. We even recycle our clay, making sure nothing goes to waste.
Here are a few glimpses of the studio. It's a bright, airy space filled with plants and art, with shelves holding the works-in-progress of our students. The glass door lets in the view of our green garden path.
I set up this community studio in 2015 with the simple intention of making art a part of everyday life. I believe it has the power to make us more mindful and aware. This space is for everybody.
About Our Serene Studio in Bandra
The studio is a greenhouse-style sanctuary designed to help you disconnect from the city's pace. When you walk through our doors in Pali Hill, the hum of traffic fades, replaced by the gentle spin of the wheel and the rustle of leaves. It’s a space where you can focus entirely on the clay in front of you and walk out feeling lighter than when you arrived.
When I started The Pottery Lab in 2015, I wanted to create a place that felt more like a friend’s living room than a sterile art center. That’s why we chose Pali Hill. This neighborhood has a specific kind of old-school Bandra charm—leafy, quiet, and bursting with great cafes. You can easily turn a workshop session into a full Pali-day out, grabbing coffee or visiting an art gallery just a short walk from our door.
Inside, we prioritize comfort so you can focus on your craft. The studio is air-conditioned, bright, and surrounded by plants, which keeps the environment cool and refreshing even on a humid Mumbai afternoon. We have individual electric wheels for those mastering technique and spacious wooden tables for hand-building sessions. Whether you are coming in for a private team workshop, a weekend class, or a one-on-one session, the space is set up to handle the mess, so you don't have to worry about cleaning up.
We provide everything you need—from the apron to the high-fire stoneware clay. All you need to bring is yourself. If you are planning a visit, keep in mind that our studio is intimate by design to keep the guidance personalized. We are located right off Nargis Dutt Road, and there is street parking available nearby. Come by to unplug, get messy, and see what you can create when the city noise stops.
