Bring art into your daily routine. From custom ceramic lamps to handmade crockery, I will help you shape raw clay into pieces that are built to be used, held, and loved every day.

The Wild Petal Vase, a bloom frozen in clay. Each one is hand-built with love and irregularity, because beauty rarely blooms in straight lines.

From a lump of clay to a beautiful, double-gourded vase. A mesmerizing look at the process of creating elegant forms on the wheel.

Make your own masterpiece! Our ceramic lamp workshop lets you design and create a unique light fixture from scratch.

A whimsical dog-shaped lamp from our one-day ceramic lamp making workshop. A perfect project for beginners!

A simple, unglazed lidded jar. The beauty is in its raw, elemental nature and the visible marks of the maker's hands.

An unadorned and unfired vase. It stands as a testament to the potential seen in raw clay, beautiful in its vulnerable state.

About Functional Art: Lamps, Crockery & More

You might think these ceramic lamps or mugs are just for display, but they are built for your daily life. In these sessions, we focus on structural integrity, ensuring that the lamp base you build or the bowl you throw on the wheel is durable, functional, and feels right in your hands.

When we make things for the home, it is not just about how they look on a shelf. It is about the comfort of a mug that fits your grip or the warmth of a lamp you crafted yourself. In these functional art workshops, we move past basic shapes to create items that serve a purpose.

We work primarily with high-grade stoneware clay for these projects, which allows for the strength needed for daily use. If you are joining us for a lamp workshop, we provide all the hardware—bulb holders and wiring—so you leave with a plug-and-play piece. For crockery projects, we guide you through the trimming and glazing process. Because these pieces are functional, they go through our full studio kiln firing process, which includes a 900°C bisque fire and a 1200°C glaze fire to ensure they are durable.

Keep in mind that functional ceramics are a slow process. Because we want your work to be food-safe and long-lasting, the finishing, glazing, and kiln cycles take about four weeks. You will need to swing by our Sarjapur Road studio to pick them up once they are ready. Whether you are crafting a full chess set or a simple lidded jar, the goal is the same: to create a piece that brings a quiet, handmade joy to your home.
