The Heart of The Janbo: Our Featured Pottery Moments

A glimpse into our world of clay, where messy hands meet quiet moments. These pieces and memories tell the story of The Janbo—a space for slow crafting and finding your creative calm.

Hug it out, mess it up, and love it even more. Pottery isn’t about perfect lines, it’s about the perfect moments you create together.

This is where the world fades away. Just the gentle spin of the wheel and the feeling of clay taking shape under your hands. It’s a conversation without words.

Yes, you can even make your own chess set. We call this one 'Cocoa Clash,' a charming, hand-glazed set crafted right here in our studio. It’s a reminder that art can be playful.

Welcome to our sanctuary on Sarjapura Road. We designed this space to be warm, full of light, and free of pressure. It’s a place to escape the rush and find your creative calm.

From a simple block of clay to a form that tells a story. Our sculpture workshops are where you can bring your most imaginative ideas to life, one detail at a time.

A creative escape for the little ones. Our kids' summer camps are designed to get small hands working with clay, away from screens and into a world of imagination.

Light up your home with something you made yourself. Our ceramic lamp workshop is one of our most loved sessions, where you can craft a functional piece of art that’s completely unique to you.

This is what community looks like. Friends and strangers gathering around a table, sharing stories and shaping clay. It’s a chance to slow down and connect.

Meet the 'Damn Red Woman,' a powerful ceramic sculpture created by one of our students. It’s a story of resilience, strength, and the beauty found in imperfection.

It all started with silence. Before The Janbo was a studio, it was a personal journey of burnout and rediscovery. This is the first chapter of our story.

About Featured

When you walk into our studio, you’ll notice it isn't about perfection. We focus on the 'slow living' side of pottery. You might come in with a rigid idea of what to make, but I encourage you to let the clay lead. Whether you're here for wheel throwing or hand-building, the goal is to leave the rush of Sarjapur Road behind for a few hours. It’s okay if your pot wobbles—that’s just part of the story.

Our studio was born from a need to slow down, and that philosophy guides every workshop we host. We believe that creativity is a form of therapy, which is why our classes are designed to be accessible, no matter your experience level.

We offer a range of sessions tailored to different needs:

  • Wheel Throwing: For those who want to experience the meditative spin of the wheel. It is all about centering yourself while centering the clay.
  • Sculpting & Hand-Building: If you prefer building forms with your hands, our sculpting sessions allow for more freedom, letting you create anything from whimsical characters to functional items.
  • Kids Clay Camps: We love seeing little hands get messy. These sessions are purely about fun and getting kids away from screens, helping them explore textures and shapes.
  • Functional Art: From ceramic lamps to complete crockery sets, we help you make items that you will actually use at home.

Everything happens in our Sarjapur Road studio, a space filled with natural light and a quiet atmosphere. We handle the technical side—firing your pieces in our kiln and glazing them—so you can focus entirely on the process. Whether you are a solo traveler looking for 'me time,' a group of friends wanting a unique weekend plan, or a team looking to de-stress, there is a spot for you here. We also run regular pop-up workshops in cities across India, bringing a bit of The Janbo magic to new creative communities.

I’m Madhumita, and I started this space after finding my own peace in clay. I want you to feel that same shift when you walk into our studio—no pressure, just a place to slow down and create something honest with your hands.
