See what our students have shaped in clay. From first wobbly bowls to whimsical sculptures, every piece here holds a story of patience, discovery, and messy hands.

A collection of cutesy pieces made by a group of friends in a one-day workshop. We couldn't be prouder of what they created.

Mishaps are part of the journey. These two pieces didn't come out as planned, but they remind us that mistakes are what help us learn and grow.

A whimsical creature sculpted by a student. It’s a perfect example of how pottery can be a playful escape from stress and pressure.

Imperfections add character. Here, a student's leaf-shaped dish and moon-phase palettes celebrate the beauty of the handmade.

A collection of student works, including a pot with the word 'HOPE' stamped into it. A beautiful reminder of what clay can hold.

A vibrant collection of bowls and plates from our Chennai pottery camp. Each piece tells a story of self-discovery.

From her heart to our kiln. A student transformed a simple lump of clay into this imaginative, hand-painted piece during a Paint-A-Pot workshop.

More beautiful mishaps. These pieces remind us that not everything goes as planned, and that's a lesson in itself.

A little love story in clay. A student created this heart-stamped mug and hanging decor, a tale of patience and play.

A student's creation, finished with a glossy green and earthy brown glaze. The way the colors flow together is just beautiful.

About Creations from Our Community

Notice the 'HOPE' stamped pot or the hand-carved lantern in our gallery? These aren't factory-made; they are raw, human, and perfectly imperfect. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, our studio sessions are less about achieving technical perfection and more about finding a quiet, mindful rhythm in the clay. If you see a shape you like, know that you can learn to create it yourself—even if you have never touched a pottery wheel before.

Why Your First Attempt Matters

At The Janbo, our gallery of student work is proof that you do not need years of art school to make something beautiful. Our community thrives on the beginner's mindset. When you join a workshop at our Kodathi Gate studio, we guide you through the process of centering clay on the wheel, pinching pots, or sculpting, but the final form is entirely yours.

Understanding the Clay Process

You will see different finishes in our gallery. Some pieces are raw, sun-dried terracotta—these are immediate tactile experiences often made in our basic workshops. Others, with their glossy, vibrant glazes, are our full ceramic workshop outcomes. These go through a rigorous 4-week cycle: trimming, bisque firing at 900°C, glazing, and a final glaze firing at 1200°C. We want you to understand that what you see in the photos is the result of both patience and high-temperature science.
