Inside Our Iyengar Yoga Sessions at Yogakshema
Experience the precision of Iyengar yoga through our hybrid classes, where props and personal guidance create a focused environment for physical and emotional healing.
A look into my hybrid class, where I guide students both in the studio and online. Here, I am demonstrating a pose while students on Zoom follow along, ensuring everyone receives personal attention.
In my class, every student is seen. I walk around the room, observing and adjusting, ensuring that each person is practicing safely and correctly, whether they are a beginner or an advanced practitioner.
A class in session, with students using belts for Supta Padangusthasana. This shows the collective energy of a group practice, where everyone is on their own journey but supported by the community.
This class is dedicated to 'Nari Shakti', the power of women. Here, students are using belts to work on their leg alignment, a practice that is especially beneficial for hormonal health and stability.
I am providing a hands-on adjustment to a student in a supine leg stretch. This personal touch is crucial for helping students understand the correct action and feel of a pose.
A student is being guided in Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) with the support of a chair. This demonstrates how we make classical poses accessible to everyone, regardless of their flexibility.
Here, I am observing a student in a supine stretch, ensuring her alignment is correct. Even in simple poses, precision is key to reaping the full benefits.
About this collection
You will not see students blindly mimicking poses in my classes. We treat the practice like a laboratory for the body, using props like chairs, belts, and rope walls to ensure your alignment is exact, not approximate. If you have been living with chronic pain, it is because your body's alignment is leaking energy, and my role is to help you fix those mechanical leaks one posture at a time.
My sessions are designed as a clinical pathway, not a casual workout. Whether you join me in person at the Yogakshema studio in Delhi or log in via Zoom, the focus remains the same: structural integrity. I guide you personally, moving through the room to provide adjustments that help you understand the correct action of a pose.
We structure these sessions for cumulative effect, which is why I often conduct classes in Monday-Friday batches. This consistency is critical if you are working on specific ailments like slipped discs, sciatica, or chronic stiffness.
- Hybrid Accessibility: You receive the same level of correction and attention whether you are standing on a mat in my studio or practicing from your living room.
- Precision with Props: We use industrial-grade traction tools like the rope wall and trestle to create space in your joints and spine where traditional free-hand yoga might cause further strain.
- Scientific Methodology: Every sequence is a calculated intervention. We do not just do 'yoga'; we practice a system that respects anatomy, addresses nerve pressure, and builds the core strength required to sustain you through daily life.
Come prepared to work, follow instructions, and observe your body with the attention of a student of science.
Nivedita Joshi
I teach with a singular focus: to help you understand your body the way a scientist would. My methods are born from my own journey of healing a severe slip disc, so I do not believe in shortcuts; I believe in precise, consistent alignment that actually fixes the root of your pain.
