About My Journey & My Guru, B.K.S. Iyengar
My connection to Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar is the daily blueprint for how I teach at Yogakshema. When you join my sessions, you are not simply performing asanas; you are using the exact same props and clinical sequences that helped me recover from debilitating disc issues, adapted strictly for your unique physical condition.
When I lay bedridden for twelve years, I did not find comfort in quick fixes; I found science in the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. This was not a philosophy to me. It was life. I established Yogakshema because I know the exact moment a body fails and the precise effort it takes to rebuild it. My practice is not about fitness. It is about Pran Shakti (life force). We do not guess in my class. We use props like ropes, trestles, and blocks as medical tools to align your skeletal system. If your spine is crooked, your energy spills. We stop that leak.
Whether you come to my Mandi House studio or join online, expect a curriculum that respects the hierarchy of healing: first, release nerve pressure, then build core strength, and finally, find the mental stillness required to win your life back. My Guru taught me that yoga is for everyone, regardless of your physical limitation, which is why I authored 'Yogikasparsh' to make this wisdom accessible to the visually impaired and those who think they can no longer move. If you are ready to stop masking your pain and start deconstructing its source, my door is open.
