Advanced Yoga Asanas and Therapeutic Poses
Advanced poses in yoga are not just about flexibility. They are the result of consistent, guided practice. Here at Aura Yog Centre, we use props to reach these deeper states safely, keeping your physical and mental well-being as our priority.
A collage of advanced asanas, including partner yoga, deep stretches, and inversions. This shows the beautiful range of expression that yoga offers.
A flow of asanas at our centre, including Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose) and a wall-supported inversion, showing the physical and mental healing we cultivate.
Even in a saree, the practice of yoga can continue. Here I am flowing through a simple sequence to show that yoga can be integrated into every part of life.
About Advanced Asanas & Poses Gallery
Advanced asanas are often seen as just for the super-flexible, but my approach is different. Using props like yoga wheels, belts, and wall-mounted ropes, I help students reach these depths safely, even when dealing with chronic pain or stiffness. It is not about showing off or performing stunts. It is about using correct alignment to decompress the spine and open the body. If you have been doing yoga for a while and want to deepen your practice without risking injury, my assisted therapy and advanced classes provide exactly that structure.
In our advanced sessions, we focus on the transition from basic alignment to deep tissue release and strength building. Many students come to me thinking they cannot do inversions or deep stretches because of their history with back pain or cervical issues. That is where our prop-based methodology shines.
Why Props Matter in Advanced Yoga
Props are not for making yoga easy. They are for making yoga correct. Whether we are using wooden blocks for balance, belts for deeper hamstrings stretches, or wall ropes for spinal traction, every tool serves a purpose. This is especially vital when working on:
- Spinal Decompression: Using wall-mounted ropes (Iyengar style) allows you to hang and stretch the spine safely, creating space between vertebrae.
- Safe Inversions: We work on inversions like Headstand or Handstand variations only after building core strength. We use walls and spotter assistance so you never feel unstable.
- Deep Tissue Opening: Partner-stretching and wheel-supported backbends allow you to open the chest and shoulders without putting excessive pressure on the lumbar spine.
Who Are These Classes For?
These advanced flows are for those who have moved past the initial phase of pain management and are looking to build endurance, flexibility, and deeper mental focus. If you are already comfortable with your basic routine and want to explore the next step in your Yogic journey, I welcome you to join our group sessions in Shalimar Bagh. We keep the batches small to ensure I can personally correct your posture. Karo Yog, Raho Nirog.
