Explore how we use Iyengar props to build strength, flexibility, and alignment in advanced postures. This is where dedicated practice meets clear guidance.

Nishant Sir in Samakonasana, the side split, demonstrating complete control and balance. This pose requires immense dedication and is an inspiration for our students on their own yoga journeys.

This is Karnapidasana, or Ear Pressure Pose, an advanced inversion that calms the nervous system. Nishant Sir shows the deep forward fold and spinal flexion required for this introspective asana.

Urdhva Dhanurasana, or Upward Bow Pose, performed with precision by Nishant Sir. This powerful backbend strengthens the entire body and opens the heart center, energizing the mind and spirit.

Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, the One-Legged King Pigeon Pose. This image captures the deep backbend and hip-opening aspects of the asana, showcasing advanced flexibility and grace.

An intricate twisting and binding pose, Yoganidrasana, performed by our co-founder. This asana, also known as Yogic Sleep Pose, requires extreme flexibility and brings a profound sense of relaxation.

A student performs a deep backbend using a yoga wheel for support. This advanced variation of Rajakapotasana demonstrates how props can be used to explore new depths in your practice.

A student gracefully holds Rajakapotasana, or King Pigeon Pose. This video highlights the stability and flexibility in the hips and spine that we help our students develop over time.

"Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person." A student embodies this transformation in a deep spinal twist, showing focus and dedication.

A student uses a strap to achieve the full expression of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. This demonstrates how we teach students to use props to work towards advanced postures safely.

Another student practices the King Pigeon Pose, using a block for support under the hip. This modification allows for a gradual and safe opening of the hip flexors.

About Advanced Asana Gallery

Many believe advanced asanas are only for the naturally flexible, but we see things differently. In our studio, we use chairs, blocks, ropes, and wheels to make complex postures like Rajakapotasana or inversions accessible to everyone. You will notice our students using these props not as crutches, but as tools to understand their own body alignment, proving that advanced practice is about precision, not just gymnastics.

Our Approach to Advanced Practice

Yoga is an internal journey, and our advanced asana practice is designed to help you deepen that experience. We specialize in the Iyengar method, which places a heavy emphasis on correct alignment and the use of props to protect your joints while you work towards peak postures.

Why Props Matter

Advanced asanas are physically demanding. If you force your body into a pose without the right support, you risk injury rather than finding growth. Our instructors, led by Nishant Sir, guide you on how to:

  • Use blocks and straps to safely deepen a backbend like Urdhva Dhanurasana.
  • Utilize chairs for support in inversions to calm the nervous system.
  • Employ yoga wheels to open the heart center and increase spinal flexibility.

Moving Beyond the Pose

For us, a perfect split or a deep twist is just a milestone. The real goal is the stillness you find in the process. When you hold a pose with correct alignment, you release tension not just in your muscles, but in your mind. We focus on breathing techniques like Pranayama alongside these physical postures to ensure you are connecting with your inner self.

Whether you are training to become a teacher in our 200-hour TTC program or just want to refine your personal practice, our Rohini studio offers a disciplined environment where you can push your limits safely. Join us to experience how structured technique leads to profound physical and mental transformation.
