Movement and Contemporary Dance Workshops
Explore creative expression in a pressure-free environment. From contemporary dance for kids to sensory-friendly movement therapy, we focus on joy and confidence.
I am delighted to host guest teachers like Sonia, a contemporary dance professional, who bring their unique gifts to our shala. Here, she invites children to explore movement, play, and connection in one of her vibrant workshops.
A look inside our contemporary dance workshop for kids. The focus is on fun, exploration, and self expression, allowing children to discover their own unique ways of moving through space with joy and confidence.
About Movement & Dance for All
We keep our batch sizes small to ensure every participant feels heard and safe. Whether it is contemporary dance for children or sensory-friendly movement therapy for adults, our goal is not to train dancers for a stage, but to create a space where you can move without judgment or the need to get the steps right.
In our shala, we believe movement is a language that helps us process emotions and connect with our inner selves. We regularly host guest instructors like Sonia Soney, a professional contemporary dancer, to lead sessions that go beyond simple choreography. These workshops invite you to explore fluidity, grounding, and improvisation in a way that respects your current ability level.
For children, our contemporary dance sessions are designed to build body awareness and confidence through play. There is no focus on perfection here. We encourage kids to find their own rhythm, helping them develop flexibility and focus in a non-competitive setting.
We also offer specialized movement therapy spaces designed to be sensory-friendly for neurodivergent individuals. We recognize that traditional dance studios can be overwhelming, so we have created an environment that is intentionally quiet, supportive, and free from the pressure of performance. Every session starts with breath and ends with a shared sense of community, ensuring that everyone leaves the shala feeling a little lighter.
Nitesh Batra
I started this shala to build a home, not a gym. My workshops are about real connection, and I am grateful to invite guest teachers who share my philosophy of moving with breath and intention rather than chasing a perfect pose.
