Yoga is more than what happens on the mat; it is about the people who walk the path with you. Discover how we celebrate, serve, and grow together at our shala.

Happy Yoga Day! This photo, full of laughter and joy, captures the essence of our community. For me, yoga is about this oneness, bringing us closer to ourselves and to each other.

Celebrating nine years of Ashtanga Yoga Sadhana. This journey has been built breath by breath, with the support of our teachers and our incredible community. This video is a look back at the path we have walked together.

A collage celebrating eight years of our shala. It is a beautiful reminder of the many faces, practices, and moments of connection that have filled this space with life and light over the years.

A look back at the opening of our new shala one year ago. Remembering the prayers, the fire ceremony, and the community that gathered to bless this space fills me with immense gratitude for the journey.

Celebrating one year in our new location with a special Puja ceremony. These milestones are not just about time passed, but about the reverence, customs, and sense of oneness we have cultivated together.

A young member of our community dances with joy during our anniversary Puja. The presence of children in our celebrations brings a special lightness and reminds us of the simple happiness of being together.

The altar decorated beautifully for our anniversary Puja. The flowers, incense, and offerings are an expression of our gratitude for the blessings of the past year and our hopes for the year ahead.

A glimpse of our vibrant community on International Yoga Day. We practiced together, shared stories, and celebrated the gift of yoga in our lives. It is a joy to see so many people united by this path.

Our "Pause for a Cause" fundraiser event, where the community came together to support the education of tribal children. We performed over 3500 Surya Namaskars, turning our practice into an act of service.

Shala Cleaning Day is a practice we have maintained for years. The community, including the children, comes together to care for our shared space. Cleaning our outer world is a beautiful way to tend to our inner world.

About Our Community & Celebrations

We believe that practice is not a solitary act, but a shared journey. When we gather for events like our 'Pause for a Cause' fundraisers, we move beyond individual asana into collective service, performing thousands of Surya Namaskars to support education for tribal children. It is these moments—where our collective intention creates a real-world impact—that truly define the heart of our shala.

The Ashtanga Yoga Sadhna shala in JP Nagar was never built to be just a studio; it was intended to be a home. Our community gatherings are where we step away from the routines of daily life to reconnect with one another and the deeper purpose of our practice.

Life Beyond the Mat

We mark milestones with reverence, not just celebration. From our anniversary Pujas—where we reflect on years of growth and express gratitude for our lineage—to our community cleaning days, we try to honor the space that holds us. These cleaning days are particularly special; seeing children, students, and families come together to care for our floors and lights reminds us that tending to our outer world is a direct reflection of our inner state.

Coming Together

Whether you are joining us for a Kirtan night, a festival celebration, or a workshop, you are entering a space where ego is set aside. Our events are open to everyone, regardless of whether you have been practicing for years or are just beginning. We hold space for one another, learn from visiting teachers, and share meals. When you step into our shala, you are not just walking into a class; you are joining a circle of people who show up, breathe, and support each other's growth.

If you have been looking for a place where you are seen and supported, we invite you to reach out. We would love to share our next gathering with you.

I started this shala to build a home, not just a studio. Whether we are celebrating an anniversary with a puja or gathering for a community cleaning day, we are simply people showing up for each other. Come be a part of the rhythm we have built here.
