Wrestling Classes in Saket: Master Takedowns & Ground Control
Dictate where the fight goes. Whether you are drilling sprawls or perfecting your clinch, we build the ground control and takedown skills that make you a complete fighter on the mat.
This is wrestling day. We drill the fundamentals of stand-up grappling, focusing on clinch work, level changes, and executing powerful takedowns to control the fight.
It all starts with the basics. Here, a student practices a fundamental wrestling defense, the sprawl, building the muscle memory needed to shut down an opponent's takedown attempt.
Wrestling is poetry in motion. This drill focuses on footwork, level changes, and shooting for a takedown, building the rhythm and explosiveness essential for effective wrestling.

About Wrestling: Takedowns & Control
Wrestling is not about throwing your weight around; it is about chaining your movements until your opponent has no choice but to concede the position. We do not just show you a move and walk away; we drill the transitions, like the sprawl into the clinch and the shot into the control, so you stop thinking and start reacting.
At Art of Defense, our wrestling program focuses on the reality of the mat. We strip away the flashy stuff to concentrate on high-percentage takedowns, level changes, and the defensive sprawls that keep you off your back. You are not just learning to take someone down; you are learning how to set up the shot, enter the clinch, and maintain heavy pressure once you get them there.
We use a 25mm to 30mm EVA puzzle mat system, which is crucial for safety during takedowns. It absorbs the impact, letting you push the pace without worrying about injury. Our sessions are designed for everyone from absolute beginners who are nervous about the floor to competitive grapplers looking to sharpen their transitions. We keep class sizes focused so you get eyes on your technique, not just a mass group session. You will be drilling with a mix of partners, which is the only way to get a real feel for how different bodies react to pressure. If you are tired of gym workouts that feel like play-acting, this is where you come to sweat properly. We run these sessions Monday through Saturday, so there is no excuse to miss a week of mat time.
Art of Defense
We are an MMA family, and our mats are where we test our limits. Our coaches, like Udit and Vikas, do not care how you look; they care about how you move, how you fail, and how you get back up. We are here to build fighters from the ground up, one sprawl at a time.
