About Team AOD: Our Warriors & Wins
Winning medals is the visible part of what we do, but it starts with our strict 6-day-a-week training structure right here in Saket. Whether you are aiming for a tournament podium or just want to sharpen your BJJ game, we do not just show up to spar. We drill escapes, guard passes, and takedowns until they become instinct, ensuring you get the same coaching intensity whether you are a complete beginner or training for your first competition.
Building Warriors on the Mat
At Art of Defense, we believe competition is the ultimate litmus test for your training. It is not about proving you are better than someone else, but about seeing where your skills hold up under pressure. When you look at our team, you see folks who started with zero experience and worked their way to grappling tournaments, wrestling meets, and MMA events.
Our Training Philosophy
Our approach is simple: No shortcuts. We focus on:
- Technical Proficiency: We prioritize smart grappling and solid ground control over brute force.
- Consistent Exposure: By running classes 6 days a week, we create a rhythm that forces you to stay disciplined.
- Real Resistance: You will not find 'flowery' martial arts here. We use active resistance in our sparring sessions so you know exactly how a move feels against an opponent who is actually fighting back.
Why We Compete
We encourage our students to step into the ring or on the mat not just to win, but to understand their own limits. Competing helps you identify exactly which part of your game needs work—whether it is your takedown defense or your submission setups.
We provide a safe, respectful environment for this. Whether it is an in-house roll or an external tournament, you will have your teammates in your corner. If you are ready to stop talking about training and actually start putting in the work, come by the gym. We are an MMA family, and there is always space for one more on the mat.
Art of Defense
We are the Art of Defense crew, right here in Saket. We aren't just teaching moves; we are building a fight family where every win is celebrated and every loss is a lesson. Come ready to sweat, because we keep it 100 on the mat.
