A fight often starts on the feet, but the ground is where you gain real control. I teach the wrestling fundamentals, from double leg takedowns to clinch setups, to keep you in charge.

A classic double leg takedown. I teach how to change levels, drive through your opponent, and secure the position on the mat. This is a core wrestling skill for self-defense.

Here's how to finish a single leg takedown by taking it to the "tree top." By lifting the leg high, you destroy their balance and make the takedown easy.

The fireman's carry is a powerful throw that uses your opponent's momentum against them. We start from a front headlock and use leverage to bring them down.

A detailed breakdown of the double leg takedown from a collar tie. We use the opponent's forward pressure to create the opening for the shot.

This is a real-world scenario. If someone grabs your collar, I teach you how to use a snap down to break their posture, take them to the ground, and establish a dominant position.

A simple but effective takedown demonstration. The goal is always to get the opponent off their feet and onto the ground where you have more control.

What happens when they defend your takedown? Here, I show how to finish a double leg even after they sprawl, using a knee walk to recover posture and complete the move.

From a 50-50 clinch, I teach how to transition to an arm drag and secure a body lock. This sequence allows you to take your opponent's back and control the fight.

Using a body lock to lift and return an opponent to the mat. It's all about getting your hips lower than theirs to generate power for the lift and takedown.

A simple trip from the clinch. This takedown is all about timing and unbalancing your opponent when they least expect it.

About Takedowns & Clinch Control

You do not need to be a heavyweight to control an opponent, because it is all about level changes, timing, and using their momentum against them. In my sessions, we drill these movements until they become instinct, so you can execute them under pressure, not just in theory.
