About Sacred Rituals & Chanting
It is not about performing a perfect ceremony, it is about what you bring to it. Whether it is our fire ritual where we consciously release what no longer serves us, or a full moon kirtan, I focus on creating a space where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable. You do not need to know the chants or the process beforehand. Just come with an open heart.
Why Rituals Matter
In my own journey, moving from a corporate career to teaching yoga, I found that asanas were only part of the story. The real shift happened when I reconnected with the rituals of my grandmother. Rituals give us a container for our emotions, a way to mark transitions, and a method to consciously invite peace into our lives.
What We Practice
During our time in Rishikesh, we engage in practices that go beyond the mat:
- Agni Hotra & Fire Rituals: We use fire (Agni) as a medium for transformation. It is not just lighting a lamp; it is a conscious act of letting go. We often perform these rituals at night, allowing the energy of the flame to help us release heavy thoughts.
- Mantra Chanting & Kirtan: You do not need to be a singer. Kirtan is about the vibration. Whether we are chanting during a full moon or sitting around a bonfire, the collective sound creates a powerful, meditative atmosphere that calms the nervous system.
- Cacao & Earth Altars: We use ceremonial grade cacao to open our hearts and create space for sharing circles. Our Earth Altar sessions involve gathering natural elements like leaves and stones, creating a mandala that grounds us in the present moment.
The Setting: Rishikesh
We host these rituals in nature, away from the digital noise. Being near the Ganga in the Himalayas adds an element of natural grace to these practices. It allows us to step out of the 'doing' mode and into the 'being' mode, surrounded by a sangha of like-minded seekers.
If you have been feeling disconnected or scattered, these rituals are designed to help you realign with your dharma and find your way back to your own center.
