Spiritual Pilgrimages and Sacred Journeys
These are not typical travel trips. We journey to sacred spaces like the Mahakumbh and Dharamshala to find silence, connection, and a deeper sense of dharma.
A moment of prayer at the Mahakumbh, standing at the confluence of sacred rivers. The desire for liberation and the feeling of divine love is palpable in such a powerful place.
A Hatha yogi at the Mahakumbh, holding his arm up in an act of extreme tapasya, or austerity. Witnessing such devotion is a humbling and profound experience.
A boat ride on the Sangam at dusk during the Mahakumbh. The vastness of the water and the distant lights of the camp create a surreal and meditative atmosphere.
Our boatmen rowing us across the holy waters at Prayagraj. Their simple, rhythmic effort is a meditation in itself, a beautiful part of the Mahakumbh experience.
Taking a holy dip in the Sangam at the Mahakumbh. This act of purification is a central ritual, believed to wash away karmas and bring one closer to liberation.
Receiving blessings from a Naga Sadhu at his camp. The opportunity to connect with such deeply devoted ascetics is a rare and powerful part of the Kumbh Mela.
"An experience which can’t be explained in words." A video montage from the Mahakumbh 2025, capturing the magic, devotion, and divine energy of this incredible spiritual gathering.
The most special moment of our retreat: receiving a personal blessing from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The power of his grace and compassion was a truly transformative and unforgettable experience.
About Spiritual Pilgrimages
Going on a pilgrimage is very different from a standard retreat. You are stepping into ancient energy, whether it is the raw intensity of a Naga Sadhu's camp or the quiet grace of receiving a blessing from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It requires openness, surrender, and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone, but the shift it brings to your practice is something you will carry long after you return home.
These journeys are designed for seekers who want to move beyond the mat and into the living tradition of yoga. When we visit places like the Sangam in Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh, we are not just observing rituals. We are participating in the flow of bhakti, observing the tapasya of the Sadhus, and allowing the collective energy of the gathering to wash over us.
I believe that true transformation happens when we are humble enough to learn from the environment. Whether we are taking a holy dip in the Ganga or sitting in the quiet presence of a spiritual teacher, these moments act as a mirror to our own inner journey.
Logistically, I handle the details—the travel, the stays, and the safety—so that you can hold your focus on the experience. You do not need to worry about the logistics of navigating a place as vast as the Kumbh Mela or finding your way in the Himalayas. My goal is to ensure you feel supported by the sangha (community) while you navigate these profound experiences. If you feel a calling to join these journeys, bring an open mind and a willingness to let go of expectations.
