Foundational Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore
My foundational teacher training is a deep, residential journey held in the heart of Mysore. We focus on the traditional pillars of Hatha and Ashtanga, blending precise alignment with the philosophy that yoga is about showing up exactly as you are.
In every practice, there is a calling to live with meaning. Here, I am guiding students in alignment and adjustments, helping them find their true calling on and off the mat.
With hands-on guidance, I help a student find more depth and openness in a wall-supported backbend. This personalized attention is a core part of my teaching philosophy.
A moment of connection and guidance. I am assisting a student in a seated twist, helping her find the correct alignment to safely deepen the pose and receive its full benefits.

About Foundational Teacher Training (Hatha & Ashtanga)
When you step onto the mat here, expect to use props like chairs, blocks, and straps. These are not shortcuts; they are tools to help you understand the geometry of your own body, ensuring you learn to teach safely and intelligently before you ever try to perform a pose perfectly.
A Traditional Path in Mysore
Yoga is a practice of constant refinement. My foundational TTC is designed to give you a strong, safe base in Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa, regardless of whether you want to teach full-time or simply deepen your personal discipline. We don't chase poses. We study the movement, the breath, and the intention.
The Curriculum
- Asana & Alignment: We practice the primary series, but with an Iyengar-inspired attention to detail. You will learn to use props to assist different body types and limitations, making the practice accessible to everyone you might teach in the future.
- Philosophy & Anatomy: It is not enough to move the body if you do not understand the why. We dive into the Yoga Sutras, basic Ayurveda, and the biomechanics of movement so you can teach with clarity and confidence.
- Residential Immersion: This is a 21 to 28-day experience. You will live here, eat Sattvic vegetarian meals with us, and immerse yourself in the daily dincharya (routine) of a yogi. This removes the distractions of daily life and lets you focus entirely on your transformation.
What to Expect This training is certified by Yoga Alliance, but the certificate is secondary to the practice. Expect long days, early mornings, and a supportive community. You will leave having developed the discipline to sustain your own practice and the voice to guide others safely. Whether you are a complete beginner or a practitioner looking to refine your skills, I invite you to bring your curiosity and your commitment.
