About Accessible Yoga (Chair & Wheel)

Using a chair or wheel isn't about making it easy; it's about making it sustainable. I teach you how to use these props to safely align your spine, open your chest, and achieve variations that feel impossible without support, ensuring you can sustain your practice for decades to come.

Many students approach me thinking props are a sign of a 'lesser' practice. The truth is quite the opposite. When we introduce the chair or the wheel, we aren't just modifying an asana; we are creating a bridge to deeper biomechanical alignment.

My accessible yoga modules focus on the 'why' behind the prop. In the Wheel Yoga sessions, you learn to use the ring for spinal decompression and balance training that builds core strength from the inside out. In Chair Yoga, we explore how to maintain the integrity of postures like backbends or hip openers when floor mobility is limited. This is essential knowledge for anyone wanting to teach seniors, those recovering from injury, or even seasoned practitioners looking to refine their form.

Whether you are joining me for a residential TTC in Gokulam, Mysore, or connecting via our online training sessions, the curriculum remains the same: I focus on anatomy, safety protocols, and the art of sequencing with support. You will leave with the confidence to lead classes that make the transformative power of yoga available to everyone, regardless of their starting point.

I’ve spent over thirty years on the mat, and I’ve learned that the most advanced yogi is the one who practices with awareness, not the one who struggles the hardest. Whether you join me in my Gokulam shala or online, I will guide you to use props to find freedom in your body.
