Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore
Authentic Ashtanga practice in the heart of Gokulam. Join me for a disciplined, heat-building flow that respects tradition while meeting you exactly where you are today.
At my studio, we are always high on energy. This is where strength is cultivated and transformations are real. We challenge, we fall, we laugh, and we get back up, always together.
Ashtanga like never before: powerful, precise, and deeply transformative. Every breath and every posture is a step closer to discipline, clarity, and inner strength.
Deepen your discipline and refine your breath in an Ashtanga workshop. Here, students work on jump-backs and other key vinyasas with hands-on assistance.
From energizing Hatha to fiery Ashtanga, our classes are all about breath, movement, and inner power. This student demonstrates a stable Sirsasana (Headstand).
Morning and evening sessions are filled with powerful Hatha and Ashtanga flows. This clip shows handstand prep, building the strength and balance needed for inversions.
Yoga is about showing up every day. This video captures the playful challenge of learning Ekapada Sirsasana (One-Leg-Behind-the-Head Pose) with patience and a lot of laughter.
Exploring the bold beauty of Pinchamayurasana (Forearm Stand). This inversion builds shoulder strength, focus, and ignites your inner fire.
About this collection
One of the most challenging aspects of the Ashtanga sequence is the jump-back, which many students approach with too much tension. I focus on helping you find the lift through your bandhas, or energy locks, rather than relying only on shoulder strength. We break down these transitions so you learn to move with lightness, not brute force.
In this cluster, we explore the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa sequence. Whether you are a beginner learning the primary series or an advanced practitioner working on complex inversions, the practice remains the same: a focus on breath, bandha, and drishti.
My approach is traditional but practical. In Mysore, we often see students forcing their bodies into shapes, but I encourage the use of props and modifications to ensure safety. You will learn to use blocks, straps, and wall ropes to assist your alignment, ensuring that the 'fire' of your practice does not lead to injury. We work on the foundational asanas first, building the strength required for the more demanding poses later in the series.
This is not a space for perfection. It is a space for consistency. By showing up and following a set rhythm, you cultivate a type of internal discipline that extends far beyond the mat. If you are preparing for a teacher training course or simply looking to deepen your personal practice, these sessions provide the technical breakdown and hands-on adjustments you need to grow.
