Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga for Mothers

byYoga BimbaStudio at Nagarbhavi, BengaluruView full gallery

Pregnancy and motherhood are transformative phases. I help you navigate this journey with gentle Hatha yoga, breathing techniques, and a supportive community.

Here is one of our strong mothers in her 40th week of pregnancy. Specific asanas and movements towards the end of pregnancy can help as the baby drops into position, preparing the body for an easier birth.

A happy mom means a happy child. This video shows one of our prenatal students practicing gentle standing asanas like Tiryaka Tadasana and Utkata Konasana to build strength and flexibility during her pregnancy.

Embracing yourself with the best during your pregnancy is so important. Here I am guiding an online prenatal session, focusing on breathing and gentle movements that can be tailored to any trimester to create a calm and powerful body and mind.

The first day of Navaratri marks the arrival of the Goddess. In this Goddess Pose, this mother-to-be is preparing for the arrival of her own little one. It's a beautiful way to connect with the divine feminine energy within.

It was an amazing opportunity to share my knowledge with this enthusiastic group of aspiring prenatal yoga teachers. It is a joy to help train others to guide mothers on this beautiful journey.

I feel immense gratitude for the chance to share my experience with future prenatal yoga teachers. Guiding them helps spread the knowledge of safe and effective yoga for pregnancy to more women.

About this collection

Whether you are navigating your first trimester or looking for postnatal recovery, we focus on safe, functional movement. We prioritize breathing techniques and pelvic floor exercises that are medically mindful, helping you prepare for birth and heal afterwards. This is not about rigid poses; it is about building a body and mind that feels supported through every change.

Our Prenatal Approach: Garbhasamskara and Breath

Pregnancy is a time for connection, not just exercise. In my prenatal classes, we practice Garbhasamskara, an approach that focuses on positive vibes and connecting with your little one. We work with trimester-specific asanas, ensuring that whether you are in your first month or your fortieth week, the practice stays safe and effective. We focus on hip opening, pelvic floor work, and labor preparation breathing, providing you with tools that can help during the birth process.

Postnatal Recovery: Healing at Your Pace

After delivery, the focus shifts. We move away from high-intensity fitness and concentrate on gentle recovery. We address common concerns like diastasis recti, nursing back pain, and pelvic floor strengthening. This is a non-judgmental space to talk about the messiness of 'mom-life' while slowly regaining your strength.

The Yoga Bimba Difference

  • Small Batch Size: I keep batches small (5-8 students) so I can offer real-time corrections and ensure safety for every mother.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Whether you join me at my Nagarbhavi studio in Bengaluru or log in from home, the community vibe remains the same.
  • Supportive Tribe: Yoga Bimba is a judgment-free zone. You are welcome to laugh, vent, or just breathe. We are here to support you through the ups and downs of motherhood, creating a circle of trust where you feel seen and heard.

This is not a magic fix for everything, but it is a consistent practice that helps you find steady ground during a time of immense change. As I always tell my students: Abyasa, Arogya, Ananda. Practice, health, and happiness.
