The essence of Yin Yoga is yielding. In our weekly classes, we use long held poses not to force the body, but to get deeper into the body, working with connective tissues like fascia, joints, and ligaments.

See a moment from our Yin-vyasa class, where we practice the micro-cosmic orbit meditation. This technique helps to circulate qi, or life force energy, through the body, guided by breath and focused intention.

"The mind is the lord of the senses, but the breath is the lord of the mind." Our weekly Hatha Yoga class with Shadiya focuses on mastering the breath to build a strong and centered practice.

We are happy to host Annelise Piers, an RYT 500 and doTERRA essential oils advocate. Her classes on Yin Yoga are rooted in the 5 Daoist Elements and focus on women's wellness, digestive health, and weight management.

About Restorative Yoga: Yin & Hatha

When you walk into our studio, you will find it is already set for deep release. We provide premium anti-slip mats, heavy-duty bolsters, and knee pads, so you do not need to carry your own gear. Our sessions are kept intentionally small to ensure you receive personal guidance as we work through meridian alignment in a Yin-vyasa flow or master pranayama in a Hatha session.

Yoga at Uruvana is less about achieving a perfect pose and more about finding the space to listen to your body. Whether you are new to the mat or have practiced for years, our classes provide the tools to regulate your nervous system and find your own rhythm.

  • Hatha Yoga: Led by teachers like Shadiya, these sessions focus on building a strong foundation. We use these classes to master the breath, which is the lord of the mind, helping you build core stability and mental clarity.
  • Yin & AromaYin: These classes target the deep connective tissues—fascia, joints, and ligaments. We integrate doTERRA essential oils to support the practice, targeting specific energy meridians to balance hormones and ease the mind. For instance, our Yin-vyasa flows often align with the 5 Daoist Elements to clear emotional blockages like worry.
