Yin Yoga Classes in Jayanagar
Slow down and go inward. Our Yin Yoga sessions use passive, long-hold poses to release deep tension and restore your body’s natural lightness.
What is Yin Yoga? It's a practice to release suppressed emotions stored as tension in the body, helping us return to our natural state of lightness, like a baby.
To be light is our natural state. This video explains how unprocessed emotions create heaviness and how a Yin practice helps you reconnect with that feeling of a burden being lifted.

About Yin Yoga & The Aayana Philosophy
Yin Yoga isn't about burning calories or nailing a pose; it is about stillness. In our Jayanagar studio, we hold passive stretches for several minutes to reach the deeper connective tissues, which is where many of us store our daily stress and unexpressed tension. It is less of a workout and more of a quiet, deep release for your body and nervous system, perfect if you are feeling stiff or heavy.
Why Yin Yoga works
Most yoga styles focus on the 'Yang' energy—movement, heat, and muscular engagement. Yin is the necessary counterbalance. By staying still in seated or reclined postures for three to five minutes, we bypass the superficial muscles and apply gentle, healthy stress to the fascia and connective tissues. This is where we often hold onto the physical manifestations of emotional patterns.
What to expect in our studio
Our classes are held in our Jayanagar studio, designed with natural ventilation and wooden flooring to help you feel grounded. You will not find any rush here. We use props like bolsters, blocks, and straps to support your body so you can find your 'edge' without strain.
Is this for you?
If you are a beginner, Yin is one of the most accessible ways to start because there is no pressure to perform. If you are an experienced yogi, the long holds offer a rare chance to develop mental fortitude and focus.
We focus on these key aspects:
- Nervous System Regulation: Moving from a state of constant 'fight or flight' to 'rest and digest.'
- Emotional Release: Creating a safe, supported environment to let go of stored heaviness.
- Joint Health: Gently increasing mobility in the hips, spine, and shoulders.
Come as you are. Whether you feel light or heavy on a given day, our space is open for you to simply breathe and be.
