About Specialized Workshops & Events
Why Our Workshops Feel Different
I believe regular classes are daily check-ins, but sometimes we need more. These specialized workshops and events are for those moments when you want to dig deeper, whether it's into yoga philosophy or your own body-mind connection. It's like walking into a forgotten room in your own house - sometimes surprising, sometimes peaceful.
What Actually Happens Here
- We team up with experienced teachers. Our shala in Powai hosts sessions like:
- Gītā Sār Vichār: Not your typical lecture. It’s a guided self-introspection with the Bhagavad Gītā, led by Prasad Rangnekar. You get to sit with your own questions and maybe find a few answers.
- Asana Immersions: Multi-day masterclasses. We break down hips, backbends, arm balances - all the tricky stuff.
- Mysore Sadhana: Traditional workshops, self-practice in the morning, and specialized sessions later.
Healing and Therapy Spaces
Movement here is medicine. We offer:
- Kalaripayattu sessions (ancient martial art for stamina and awareness)
- Nada Yoga: Teacher Training workshops with singing bowls. Sound healing, not just for show.
- Therapeutic Movement: Especially if you’re new, or just struggling to show up. Gentle, but still deep.
Retreats & Escapes
Every now and then, we step away from city life. Our immersive retreats mix morning kriyas, anatomy deep-dives, nature walks, and evening kirtans. You get to reset, disconnect, and connect with others.
Real Community Events
From massive International Yoga Day group practices (with art therapy, coffee, and conversation) to themed flows like 108 Surya Namaskars, we love celebrating together. Private yoga parties? Totally possible - think soulful stretches and a sound bath.
Dekho (you see), it's not about perfect poses. It’s about discovering something new in yourself, every time.

My Story
Been at this practice for 10+ years now, and honestly, it’s my anchor. Svādhyāya started because I wanted a shala that felt like a homecoming, not just another studio. We’re all about self-reflection here. It’s not only movement - it’s meeting yourself on the mat. There’s magic when people come together, like 108 Surya Namaskars in the rain, or a Yoga Party when someone leaves. I show up for those moments. Come join us, let’s practice and grow.
My Work
Classes & Workshops for Everyone - We offer Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Pre & Post Natal Yoga, Nada Yoga (sound healing with singing bowls), and inversion workshops.
Our Approach: More Than A Workout - Here, it’s about moving with breath, finding strength in stillness, and laughing through ‘screaming thighs’. We guide you, step by step.
Special Space for Mothers - Pre & postnatal yoga for mothers - we help you build strength for two, breathe deeper, and move for a happy mama, happy baby.
A Supportive Tribe - Our shala is a fun, warm space. We celebrate breakthroughs together, whether in a group Hatha yoga for beginners or a Women's Day yoga celebration.
Healing Through Sound - We host Nada Yoga workshops - just immerse, let the singing bowls guide you to stillness and awareness.
