Partner and Acro Yoga Workshops in Bangalore
Yoga is better when shared. Partner and Acro yoga is about building trust, communication, and play, whether you are trying a simple assisted stretch or a dynamic flow.
Creating shapes with a strong base. This is a fun partner inversion we tried in the park, combining a headstand with a supportive backbend.
The "I can do that better" trend, acro yoga style. A playful sequence with a fellow yogi, showing how we can lift each other up.
This beautiful assisted backbend is the reason for that smile on my face. Flying in acro yoga is a feeling of complete trust and surrender.
Flying with an amazing Poi master at a yoga festival. Acro yoga brings together people with different movement backgrounds.
Find your kind of crazy. Playing with acro yoga and arm balances with a friend.
Chilling at the park with my sister. A playful partner drop back, supporting each other through the movement.
A partner arm balance from my time assisting at the Sivananda Ashram. This demonstrates trust and shared strength.
About this collection
If the idea of lifting someone or being lifted feels intimidating, you are not alone. In my partner sessions, we focus heavily on safe spotting techniques—learning how to catch, support, and exit a pose before we ever try a fluid sequence. We treat every base and flyer movement as a conversation, ensuring you feel secure enough to let go and actually enjoy the balance, rather than just worrying about the fall.
Why Partner Yoga?
Often, we practice yoga in a bubble. Partner and Acro yoga break that bubble. When you have to rely on someone else's stability, or when you are responsible for someone else's balance, the practice changes. It is no longer just about your own flexibility; it becomes a practice of empathy, listening, and non-verbal communication.
The Mechanics of Trust
My workshops are not about circus tricks or ego-driven performance. We deconstruct every move into phases:
- The Base: Learning how to provide a stable, solid foundation for your partner.
- The Flyer: Trusting the base and finding alignment in the air.
- The Spotter: The most crucial role. We learn how to support the pair, ensuring everyone feels safe and the entry and exit from every pose is controlled.
Where We Practice
I host these sessions in Bangalore at spaces like Good Move in Koramangala. The goal is a relaxed, judgment-free environment. You don't need a partner to sign up—we rotate and practice with different people in the group, which is a great way to meet others in the city's yoga community. My teaching style is influenced by my time at Sivananda Ashram, so expect a focus on breath and intention, even when we are having fun with acro balance.
What to Expect
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, we focus on progression. We start with simple stretches, move to supported backbends, and eventually work on playful arm balances. It is okay to wobble. It is okay to fall. We laugh, we reset, and we try again.
Saumya Mishra
I believe yoga becomes a completely different experience when you practice with another person. It teaches you to listen, adjust, and trust someone else’s movement, which is a powerful way to grow. I love bringing people together in these sessions because, at the end of the day, it is about connecting—first with yourself, then with your community.
