Traditional Hatha Yoga and Mindful Practice
Yoga is a sadhana, a practice for your soul. Join our traditional Hatha sessions in Delhi where we focus on breath, stillness, and connecting to your inner joy rather than just the shape of a pose.
A gentle reminder: take a deep breath and let go of what you can’t control. A simple flow ending in Savasana.
Your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change. A moment of reflection in a toe squat.
A sequence from splits to a meditative pose, set to the Mool Mantar, reminding us of the spiritual foundation of our practice.
Stop thinking, start doing. A simple transition from standing to a seated meditative pose.
My yoga, my practice is my time to feel alive, loved, and free. A deep forward fold, a moment of surrender.
Slow down, pause, wonder, dream. Virabhadrasana II, or Warrior II, gives us the strength to find space for creativity.
Yoga is a dance between control and surrender. A flow from tree pose to splits by the water.
Today I bless myself with peace and joy. A graceful entry into Natarajasana, or dancer's pose.
"Be moderate in everything," says Swami Sivananda. A stable headstand against the light, embodying balance and regulation.
May classes are starting. A sequence from a seated hip opener to Lolasana, or pendant pose.
About The Practice: Philosophy & Poses
When you walk into our studio, leave your performance anxiety at the door. Whether you are working toward your first headstand or just trying to touch your toes, we use props like blocks and straps to make the postures accessible for your specific body, not to force you into an ideal shape. It is about meeting yourself where you are today, not where you think you should be.
Your Path on the Mat
We believe yoga is a sadhana, a practice that grounds the soul. Our sessions at the Old Town Cafe Studio in Asiad Village move beyond simple fitness. We follow the Sivananda Hatha sequence, which blends asanas with rhythmic pranayama and meditation. This is not a place for competition or perfect poses, but a space to explore the internal journey.
Our Approach
- Mindful Alignment: We focus on the how, not just the what. Whether you are joining our 75-minute studio sessions or an online class, we offer real-time verbal adjustments to help you find stability in your breath.
- Adapting for You: We work with students who have different physical needs, from those recovering from back pain to those simply looking for mobility. Using blocks, straps, and modifications, we ensure the practice serves your body.
- The Sivananda Rhythm: Our classes typically start with Surya Namaskar, move through held poses to build strength, and close with Savasana to integrate the energy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I am not flexible? You do not need flexibility to start yoga. You start yoga to find it. Our classes are designed for all levels, including total beginners.
Can I practice if I have an injury? Yes, but please let us know before the session. We offer personal training sessions specifically for injury rehab and anatomy alignment.
Where do you conduct offline classes? We practice in a sunlit studio in Asiad Village and often take our sessions to the green spaces in Siri Fort, weather permitting.
Preeti Anushka Yoga
We are Preeti and Anushka, a mother-daughter duo who found our own peace on the mat. Preeti started her practice in her late forties, so we know it is never too late to begin. We keep it real and honest, helping you find your own rhythm rather than just following a trend.
