Yoga is not about the shapes we make; it is about the energy we create. This is a look into my own daily practice, where breath, bandhas, and intention guide every movement.

"To one that is without peace, how is happiness even possible." A quote from the Bhagavad Gita that resonates deeply with my practice, shown here as I move through a seated flow.

Discipline. A moment from my personal practice in Goa, finding stillness and strength in Sirsasana (Headstand) and Matsyasana (Fish Pose) with the ocean as my backdrop.

I didn't set out to teach this practice; it was always my tool to cope and harmonize. Sharing it is an extension of my own Sādhanā, a way to connect with inspiring people.

All prayers as I resume another term of sharing and receiving. Teaching has never felt like work; it feels like a homecoming, a way of connecting to a higher energy.

It's not how much we do, but how we do the poses. If you are not engaging your bandhas and breath, you are doing gymnastics, not yoga. We are creating energy.

Carl Jung said it’s a privilege of a lifetime to become who you really are. Yoga is a powerful method to shed the layers and remember who you were before the world happened to you.

This practice is not about making shapes; it's about healing the body with doses of it. My own control issues show up in my neck and shoulders, and through backbends, I strive to let go.

These poses are a mere tool to bring awareness to my breath. With each inhalation I gain energy for new experiences; with each exhalation I release what no longer serves me.

"Restricted to a repertory of preordained asanas... this extreme simplification of life is the basic Yogic condition for Meditation." Words that stay and inspire my practice.

A long read on the history of modern yoga, from a practice of renunciation to a tool for health and stress relief. My own journey reflects this, from physical healing to spiritual yearning.

About My Personal Practice & Philosophy

My practice is built on the 'trishtana' method: combining breath, bandha, and drishti. If you are simply stretching or bending without these, you are doing gymnastics, not yoga. In my classes at SharanYoga Shala, we focus on using the length of your exhalation to release deep-seated tension, ensuring that every asana is an act of healing rather than just physical exercise.
