About Additional Work
We practice what we teach, and our sessions are as much about understanding the 'why' as they are about the 'how'. Take our standing splits for instance: we focus on active engagement to build real strength rather than just relying on passive flexibility. This is a small shift in approach that keeps your practice safe, sustainable, and truly effective in the long run.
Yoga here is not about hitting the deepest pose for a photo; it is about the journey on your mat. Whether we are practicing in our sunlit studio at Old Town Cafe in Asiad Village or finding space on the grass at Sirifort, our approach remains grounded in traditional Sivananda Hatha yoga.
We structure our classes to help you find balance. This means balancing effort with ease, strength with mobility, and structure with intuition.
Our Approach
- Active vs. Passive: As you'll see in our practice videos, we focus on active muscle engagement. This is essential whether you are working on backbends like Chakrasana or arm balances like Eka Pada Koundinyasana. It protects your joints and builds functional strength.
- Inclusive Settings: We believe the environment matters. When we move to the park, the practice changes—it becomes more connected to nature. Our studio sessions, conversely, allow for focused, hands-on adjustments which are great for beginners.
- The 'Why': Every pose we teach has a purpose. We don't chase advanced inversions like Sirsasana just because they look cool. We practice them because they challenge our core, calm our minds, and teach us to find stillness when we are upside down.
We welcome anyone, from total beginners to those who feel stuck in their practice, to join our group sessions or personal training. You don't need to be flexible to start; you just need to show up.
