Whether you are curious about hula hooping or looking to dive deeper into flow arts, these sessions are all about playful exploration. Join me as we move beyond perfect poses to find what feels steady and easy in your own body.

This is what went down at the beautiful Zenfest. I had so much fun sharing my love for hula hooping and making everyone jump and play.

Hula Hoop Sundays. A collage from a recent workshop where we filled the morning with circles, hoops, and learning new tricks together.

Leading a hula hoop session at Zenfest with live music in the background. The hoop is a halo of happiness, and it's amazing to share that feeling.

An end-of-the-year flow by the water in Coorg. It was an eventful month, and this was the perfect way to close it out, just me, my hoops, and the sounds of nature.

Been waiting to get my feet in the sand and my flow with the flow of the waves. Hooping in the ocean is a whole different kind of magic.

A little splish splash action with my hoop. Who says you can't flow in the pool? It's all about moving your body to the rhythm you feel inside.

Something about catching a flow state in a beautiful place like this is just everything. Hooping by the lake with the mountains watching over.

About this collection

We always begin our hula hoop workshops with yoga-based mobility drills to warm up your joints before we pick up the hoops. Whether you are a total beginner who has never kept a hoop spinning or someone looking to learn off-body tricks, we focus on what feels good for you, not on achieving a perfect shape.

My flow arts practice is built on the belief that movement should feel like coming home to yourself. In these workshops, we blend the structure of yoga with the playfulness of the hoop. You do not need to be flexible or have a background in dance to start. We begin with basic waist hooping and simple yoga asanas to ground ourselves, then move into tricks and choreography. It is about understanding how your body wants to move, not forcing it into rigid shapes.

These sessions are a high-intensity workout without feeling like a chore. You will learn to coordinate your breathing with your movement, which helps in unlocking tension in the body. If you join us for a session, expect a bit of sweat, a lot of laughter, and a supportive community. I often host these in city studios where we have access to shared mats and hoops, so just bring yourself and an open mind. For those interested in deeper work, we also integrate Poi and Dapo Star spinning into our flow arts retreats, where we have more space to explore these tools in nature. It is all about finding that 'sthira, sukha' state where the movement feels effortless.

I am Gowri, and for me, movement is simply a way to be present. I do not care about perfect poses or textbook technique; I just love exploring what our bodies can do when we let go of expectations and find our own rhythm.
