About Start Your Flow Journey: Workshops & Courses
When you walk into our studio at Breathing Spaces, don’t worry about 'doing it right' on the first try. Most of the learning happens in the wobble. Our 'Basics & Beyond' sessions are designed to help you get comfortable with the weight of the hoop or the swing of the poi before you even think about complex tricks, so you can build real coordination at your own pace.
Your First Step into Flow
Starting a new movement practice can feel intimidating, but my goal is to strip away that pressure. These workshops aren't just about learning a few moves; they are about understanding the physics and rhythm of flow. Whether you are a total beginner or looking to refine your technique, we start with the fundamentals of body awareness and prop mechanics.
The 'Basics & Beyond' Approach
My 8-session course is structured over four weekends to give you enough time to integrate what you have learned. We break the sessions down into:
- Dapostar: Focusing on geometry and limb coordination.
- Hula Hoops: Emphasizing posture, core engagement, and rhythm.
- Poi: Developing hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
By keeping batch sizes small (under 12 students), I ensure that everyone gets personal attention to fix form and adjust their technique. This isn't just about watching a teacher; it is about finding how your body likes to move.
