Animal Flow: Unleash Your Movement
Ready to get out of your head and into your body? Animal Flow is my favorite way to build real strength, mobility, and coordination using just your own bodyweight. No gym machines, just pure, grounded movement.
What a fantastic Sunday flowing with this bunch. This is what an Animal Flow workshop looks like: lots of energy, learning new movements, and supporting each other.
This is exactly what a beginner's Animal Flow class looks like. It's not about getting the moves perfect, but about understanding the fundamentals of how our bodies can move.
Celebrating International Animal Flow Day with my amazing and consistent students. It’s so rewarding to see them embrace the flow and make it their own.
A Sunday morning movement session with the Animal Flow community in Cubbon Park. We meet, move, connect, and flow to the fullest. It's therapy in nature.
This flow was inspired by Animal Flow creator Mike Fitch. It felt so good to try it. It's a beautiful sequence to work on, especially with the lush green grass under my hands.
A likkle flow in the sunshine at a beautiful shala in Goa. This is me in my element, just moving and feeling the energy of the space.
This is how movers connect. We bumped into each other on a beach in Goa and just had to share the flow. The sand adds a whole new challenge and dimension to the practice.
About this collection
Animal Flow isn't about hitting a mirror-perfect pose or reaching a target rep count; it's about learning to coordinate your limbs, which is often the biggest hurdle for beginners. In my sessions, we focus on 'Sthira-Sukha'—steadiness and ease—as we link ground-based movements like the Ape, Beast, and Crab. It is a full-body workout that challenges your brain as much as your muscles, and you will leave feeling like you finally understand your body's potential.
Rediscover Natural Movement
If you are tired of staring at the same walls in a gym, Animal Flow offers a refreshing change. This practice is entirely ground-based, meaning we use our own body weight to build functional strength. You don't need fancy equipment, and you definitely don't need to be a gymnast to start. We strip away the complexity of machines to focus on how we were actually designed to move.
What to Expect
Every session feels more like play than a workout. We start by tuning into the breath and warming up the joints, then we transition into specific 'forms' and transitions.
- The Foundation: We learn the basics of quadrupedal movement—getting comfortable with your hands and feet on the floor.
- The Flow: We link these shapes together into a smooth sequence. It looks like a dance, but it builds serious core stability and mobility.
- The Community: Whether you are in a park or a studio, we move together. We laugh, we stumble, and we support each other through the learning curve.
Why This Practice Works
Most traditional strength training focuses on isolating muscles. Animal Flow is different because it trains the body to work as one integrated unit. This helps you move more efficiently in your daily life, not just during class. Plus, it is a fantastic way to release stress. When you are deeply focused on executing a movement, you cannot help but be present. It is my way of coming back home to myself, and I am so stoked to share that journey with you.

I'm Gowri, and for me, movement is how I come back to myself. I don't care about perfect form or hitting gym benchmarks; I just love helping my flowmies discover that their bodies can do things they never imagined.
